Re: Under The Influence.

Interesting discussion topic, Andy. I'll chuck one in there which might raise an eyebrow: at No.11, Robbie Savage. No, children, not that knobhead, but the diminutive Scouse left-sider Phil Neal bought in September 1987. His was the last-day goal that got us automatic promotion from the Fourth Divi...

Under The Influence.

It's a slow week at work so bear with me... What would you say Bolton's all time most influential team is? I say this as I was talking to my dad about goalkeepers and although in fairly recent years Jussi has been the better keeper, I'd have said Branagan was more influential because if he hadn't ha...

I like Clough, but someone has to tell him that, if he wants to score a few more goals, that thing next to his right foot, is his left foot.

I went to the cemetery today and saw 6 blokes walking around with a coffin.

They were still walking around when I left.

I thought, these lot have lost the bloody plot...

Re: I should have told em, Oldham. Home, 15th Oct.

0-0. An absolute waste of an otherwise perfectly good Saturday afternoon. People call me miserable, but by god it is hard to argue against this being the outcome. What time does the Beer Festival open? :) 7pm. I'll be there if anyone else is? Oh, and a definite 0-0. Henry misses at least one sitter...

Re: Swindon (A) 08/10/16 1pm - Match Thread

And in fairness to Clough, their 'keeper was having one of those days. I think only that type of goal would have beaten him! I didn't go but watched it on Indian telly (Lord knows why it was on there), but I thought we looked a bit better with Thorpe in there instead of Trotter. Henry needs to buck ...

Re: Swindon (A) 08/10/16 1pm - Match Thread

Part of the problem of late has been players reluctance to shoot outside the box. I do wonder whether that's because the players don't have the confidence or whether they're acting on instruction. Either way, we need to start having a go and following the ball in. To some extent, I can see the fear...

It'd be a bit daft if he didn't give Zambezidam a go tonight.

It's kind of the whole point of the stupid affair to give "youth" a try.

Re: Oxford (H) 1st Oct 2016 15:00

On the subject of the Sh*tehouse Family of Vela and Trotter, when was the last time our midfield ran the game? Or at least looked as good as the opposition?

I'd go even further to ask, when was the last time we won and were clearly the "better side"?

Re: Oxford (H) 1st Oct 2016 15:00

Trotter never broke sweat. Trotter never breaks sweat, and neither does Vela - IMO they are both lazy, lethargic players, both appear to be completely disinterested and are very poor midfield players and until we replace both with box to box midfield players who show & want the ball, who work hard,...

Re: Oxford (H) 1st Oct 2016 15:00

Well that was a whole new shade of shite. We were set up so narrow that we could've played on a bowling alley, still, with Henry in behind Madine and Clough at least I could see what we were trying to do which I couldn't on Tuesday. Problem is, with such a lack of service from midfield they were la...

Re: Out, damned Spotland, I say. Rochdale (A) 27/9/16

Tonight was a real turning point. We have been poor all season but tonight the effort lacked too. Taylors reaction when he went off and the response PP for at the end. We are in a relegation battle. PP has one tactic and we do not have the players to carry it off. Any team playing us know we offer ...

Re: Out, damned Spotland, I say. Rochdale (A) 27/9/16

Beevers and Wheater have been good at defending, but in the modern game you have to have at least one of the back 2 who can pass and set up an attack. Beevers seems to think that passes must either be sideways or hit as hard as possible to nobody (or to touch). We won't start to be a threat with th...

Suppose you prefer drawing to winning, in that case? Aye, cos extra striker, irrespective of whom, always = wins. We've seen that down the years. Throwing on more and more attacking players has never failed us, ever...oh.... Personally, I thought it might have made a difference on Saturday. The bal...

I think I'd swap a fit Mark Davies for all 5 of our deadline day signings... Please don't let us start with this sh*te again this season. Re: Saddlers up, we're off to Walsall (A) 17/8

I think there is scant evidence that Clough will bag double figures in this division let alone a kid who's played about 5 minutes of pro football. Iles asked Parky, his coaches and David Lee who all said Samizadeh wasn't ready for the first team yet. David Lee apparently has been fairly critical of...
