Regrettably the official site indicates that Australia is not on the approved list for o'seas iview viewers. A shame really, but beggars can't be choosers. :conf:

Re: SAVE BURY

If that discombobulating collection of wordage is a genuine expression of the Bury steering committee, and if I was a Bury supporter, I would consider seriously the option of packing my bags and leaving the ship before the rats block the gangways. To any Bury fan who might be reading this: I have no...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

Aye, tha's right thur, lad. It seems that the Met got things right this time. I've shifted to the commentary on the Lancs v Notts game which is available here. Mind you, it's as gloomy for Lancs at lunch as is the weather in the SE . Right, lunch is over, so I'll off and listen for a bit before putt...

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

I just looked at the Met's forecast for the Soton area; it looks a bit dire. Following of the game tonight has been taken off to-do list.
I was disappointed to find that the BBC is not allowing transmission to Australia of commentary for this series, particularly as the W.I. series was.

After reading that lot, ossifer, my eyeballs and brain are spinning in a sort synchronised dance of confusion.

Then again it is coming up to 04:00 where I live.

Oi! What's going on here? Has the pandemic turned your collective brains upside down? Have you forgotten that you are football fans? A real football fan is a pessimist A real football fan never, ever, praises the board, the playing staff or anything else to do with the club. A real football fan has...

Anyway no more from me about this, I voted out and we are out, Johnson needs to deliver now.
Is that a promise, Hoboh? For someone who hasn't stopped moaning and groaning since his side of the argument won the referendum/plebiscite I find the statement somewhat difficult to believe.

Re: The athletics/running thread

Remember when Roger Bannister broke the 4-minute mile way back when? Whilst it was run on a normal track he did have pacemakers (the only one of which I recall was Chris Chataway) and was organised as a world record attempt - no one complained then; in fact he was lauded throughout the world of athl...

See, I always thought that Vela and Clough paired incredibly well. So well, in fact, that I said at the time that if anyone came in for one then they should also come in for the other.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet

An admirable finish to an absorbing Ashes test match. My man of the match is Jack Leach. Seventy odd runs to safety must have seemed a very tall mountain to climb. I am well aware of Stokes' efforts to keep him away from the ball, but he still faced 17 balls (let's call it three overs), for one run,...

Re: News stories that make you think, or not...

I have just looked at the source newspaper story. A female cow; who'd have thought it? Armed police shot dead the stray animal also sounds odd, does it not? Given the (rather dubious) reporting seems to indicate that the animal was calm and merely grazing on whatever was available to it. To kill the...
