Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
Going into the playoffs in really good form is crucial. Peterborough and the rest might end up relaxing or taking the pressure off. For us it's a case of maintaining high levels to get promoted, automatically or otherwise. Aye. If we win all our games until the end of the season we'll go up. Mahybe...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
I know what you both mean (Boris and TW15) but I strongly suspect we could have had some easier tasks in the last four games than playing the champions-elect and travelling to the team in 4th. Now, it's possible that by the final day, Posh will be constrained to the play-offs and thus much less both...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
I do wonder however how much the timing of games impacts the opposition. Derby play Wednesday and Saturday, which means that they could be feeling further ahead than they actually are should they win on Wednesday. Points in the bag vs games in hand, innit. It all levels up a week tomorrow when we h...

Re: The Nostradamus file....
Pompey are going to be backed by a vociferous and expectant support. Might also be some of them sneaking into the home sections, given demand way outweighs supply. It could be a febrile atmospehre but we have to want to show how good we are. Down at theirs we had the best of the opening half hour un...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
I suppose we’re hoping for a Wycombe victory in the trophy final this afternoon then. That’d bring a nice double whammy of boosting the Chairboys’ confidence ahead of Wednesday and demoralising Posh. Sadly, just about the opposite happened. Posh scored on 85, Wycombe equalised but conceded in injur...

I would agree with Gun we have the best keeper in the league, interestingly I notice Traf has been dropped recently by Burnley. ...which hasn't worked out well: . https://twitter.com/Tomdarlo_bwfc/status/1776670306108649570 . Have to say Traf being at Burnley has made me want them to not lose, whic...

I suppose we’re hoping for a Wycombe victory in the trophy final this afternoon then. That’d bring a nice double whammy of boosting the Chairboys’ confidence ahead of Wednesday and demoralising Posh. Purely selfishly 'tactically' - I agree. Just on a sense of the two clubs, I agree even more strong...

Don’t remember a chipped finish in a league game for a long while. Confidence and poise, that. Proving himself to be a lethal finisher. Interesting to see what line-up he goes with once Charles is back. Collins’ general play and physicality isn’t there, but he’s looking so effective where it matter...

Aye. As I've said before, I think for some, negativity is a self-protection mechanism - assume the worst and you won't be disappointed. Although some of the loudest voices last week seem rather quieter this week, which doesn't help dispel the notion that there's a masochistic desire to fail.

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
^^ Just as an aside, 2017 - we had a bit of a hiccup from here, last 5 games netting only 7 points, which kept us guessing until 2 to play (or so)... Edit: Game 42 - L to Scunthorpe out nearest competitors - big game bottle jobs. Game 43 - L to Oldham - I mean local derby of some league importance ...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign
I'm not even considering catching Pompey. I wanted them to win last night and swore at them several times during the evening for not doing so. As Worthy notes, *IF* we win all of our games (inc the champs-elect plus Posh away, so it's a big if) it would leave Derby needing to win all their four game...

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock
On Easter holidays and recovering from an illness, so quite a good excuse to watch the entire Pizza Cup Final on YouTube again. God we were good that game. Forgot how superb Bradley was: if a mon in behind, we had Santos, Toal, and Bradley who could make up the ground. Can’t help but feel we can do...
