Re: The athletics/running thread
If you want me to put a training programme together, including proper warm up and cool down sessions, I'd be happy to. Back to basics. It'd help me too as I've just taken a Leader in Running Fitness course and I could use you two for practice. Sounds good. Make it we three test-cases as M...

Re: The athletics/running thread
A month on and not much changed. Missed Knutsford but managed Leeds Abbey Dash (in Biblical conditions I may add) but am now having trouble with the other leg. Pulled up short on a run last night. Hope I can sort it for the weekend when I'm up for a 5km race in Bromley Cross. Anybody else getting o...

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Thursday I'm off to see a play. The Final Problem. Loosely based around the Sherlock Holmes story it's a narrative by Doctor Watson. Mrs GtE loves Murder Mysteries and especially Sherlock Holmes so I hope it's good. My daughter is a total Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie fan and Holmes is her favour...

Re: General Chit Chat
University challenge was the only show (this was back in the '60s) when they asked the question and I thought "wtf?". Hopefully it got a little easier over the years as I found watching it humbling. If you can get it over there Monty you should try Only Connect. I find it great viewing but I don't ...

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Meant to post this on Saturday but I still can't put pictures up on here. We watched the match last Saturday via the Platinum Suite. A treat for my 89 year old father in law, a season ticket holder for donkeys years, but ill health and caring for his late wife means he'd not been to a match in near...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Matt Hancock. Seriously. Does public service mean anything? Do the people who died as a result of your failures mean anything? Or is it all just about making your money whilst you can? The latter, obviuosly. If I went to Australia for three weeks and still expect to be paid, whilst unable to do my ...

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Just looking on one site. Cheapest Manchester tickets (Standing) £202.80 + 2.50 handling fee. Each. So they can Fvck off. Yet it'll still sell out. I've never known any body of people quite like the devotees of Iron Maiden to be so seemingly desperate to throw swathes of their money at anything. Do...

Re: The Politics Thread
If Putin decides to go tactically nuclear I think he'll target the UK. We're an island nation, physically removed from Europe. Nuclear weapons trained on London/ Liverpool/ Manchester/ Leeds/ Glasgow/ Edinburgh and Belfast would decimate the population and industry. This 'warning shot' would either ...
