SW: This is Shola Ameobi's last week at the club. We're not in a position to keep him. It's a shame. You want players with experience. #BWFC

Re: Through the Forest have I gone..Nottingham Forest away.

Amos got a dodgy back pass but kept it in play. They come again and we have a throw. They try again and have a bit of possession before Ward wallops one in. Pratley wins a throw near halfway. Mic man want to talk about other teams but we'd rather heara bout us thenks. Now they have a corner vial Ve...

I particularly enjoyed the penalty he faced on the final day of the 92-93 season!

Re: Holden Comeback Pt. 27

Good luck to the guy, many players would have given up long ago. Looking at our nosedive ever since he got injured is testimony to how critical a player he was for us during his time here. I remember watching that shortlived comeback against Villa, and he was still a class above the rest of the team...

"McGinlay does it again!"

Got delayed en route and was still walking up to Anfield when that went in. Thought the scallies outside were having us on when they told us what had happened.

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr

I still don't get the logic of Middlesbro offering £500,000 and been turned down without negotiating and then accepting a free after an opening bid of £750,000 from Wedns?! When not go back to Middlesborough and snap their hand off? When was the bid from Middlesbrough? Before Christmas, wasn't it? ...

Re: More than one owl? Count me in! SWFC away 12/1

You all seem to have forgotten Simon Farnworth and Kevin Rose :) Or Aiden Davidson? Always thought he was a decent back-up for Keith Branagan. Although I seem to remember he had an annoying habit of playing pat-a-cake with the ball instead of catching it. I suppose in hindsight, that is a bit of a ...

Re: Lennon out!

I'd guess Elmander cost us the most per goal of any of our strikers. Net £8m loss on transfer fee and big wages for at best decent goal return. Wasn't even that decent IIRC; think it was 18 in about 95 appearances. The much derided Madine isn't on too dissimilar a match/goal ratio (I think 5 in 24?...

Re: Lennon out!

who was that player we paid cos he was a right larff in the dressing room?? Robbie Blake - shudder to think of the size of that contract... £6k a week, that's £312,000 per year plus bonuses... Hey! He was good for the dressing room remember! Scored a belting equaliser against Birmingham at home too...

Re: Spotty's Seriously Sub-standard Second Rate Transfer Thr

^ nahh - I was referring not simply to the distance, but the idea that he has totally given up on Bolton and doesn't give a sh$t anymore... if that were true - why would he bother interrupting his barbadan idyll to get involved in whether Vela was sold or not.. that's all! Because there was no bung?!

Re: The Debt.

At the risk of repeating myself, I think it's fairly clear that there has either been some colossal incompetence or more sinister motives that have led to the hole we're in. And the bucket stops at the top. His regime has brought the club to its knees. So you can probably guess I'm not going to be ...

Bit disingenuous to c*nt off a bloke folk know, pretty much, nothing about. I think we all know BWFC had a party on the back of his investment. I doubt anyone posting on here has a clue why it all went wrong. At the risk of repeating myself, I think it's fairly clear that there has either been some...

Re: The breaking News thread...

I can never prove this, and I know many doubt it, but Eddie is not out of pocket from his time at the club and he is now grabbing every last penny he can realistically get. This is all part of his plan. BWFC is his plaything , he doesn't care one bit about the fans. I would disagree, ED has always ...

Re: The breaking News thread...

I'm told by our resident finance expert that the costs are simply the business operating costs as well as paying the administrators. That could be expensive overall. But I assume often administrators would sell assets to raise that money, so not sure why we are doing it in advance. Unless, as point...

Re: The breaking News thread...

There has to be no serious bidder, otherwise Clough would not be being sold. If any consortium was close to buying the club, they would have insisted as part of the deal that Clough was not sold as he's the only valuable player in the squad, and could potentially in the next 12 months or so could f...
