Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Out of interest (I can't be arsed looking) when as the last time we integrated a teenager into our first team? Discounting loans from Premier League clubs etc We're close to writing off 20 year olds as being too old. It's nonsense. Footballers play until 38+ now. Exceptional teenagers like Rooney e...

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
It doesn't seem as though any of the players from our first B team intake will make it here. Khumbeni appears the one most highly thought of, but he turns 21 next month and has only had the briefest sniff of first team football so far. I get that the model is to unearth diamonds in the rough, and th...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
Dad Bod getting back to his old self would obviously make a huge difference. An on song JDB plus Vic and Charles would be a very reasonable rotation, albeit with terrible fourth and fifth choice options.

Where did the £300k number come from for Nlundulu? I think Iles has just said 'six figures', but I can't remember ever seeing a specific number quoted in the press.

Was hoping Posh might have a tough game with lots of injuries and sendings off tonight, however, Cheltenham have had a man sent off after five minutes…

Re: Burn after Reading. Reading (A) League 1. Saturday 16th September 2023. 3pm KO
Yeah, this fixation on JCH is daft. He doesn’t really fit our style , would likely demand sky high wages on top of a big transfer fee, and potentially has a questionable attitude. It’s easy for fans to massively oversimplify things, but the realities of constructing a football team are presumably n...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....
I’d be interested in the number of injuries occurring during training. Again my ‘gut’ feel is we have an astronomically high number compared to anything I’ve heard of before and they are mainly muscular……see Maghoma as the latest… Training injuries should be confined in the main to unfortunate coll...

Do we have stats to back this up, or is it merely conjecture?officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 7:01 pmDefinitely something problematic with our training regime - new signings always break within a month or so. Would make me want a full squad, not one with 3 or 4 gaps.

Re: Posh do or dogs dinner? Bolton v Peterborough Sat 23rd Sept - 3pm
I really do hope that we win this because if we lose I have a feeling that quite a few fans may verbally turn on Evatt both in the stadium and on social media & I can't really blame them. Almost every fan that you speak to is annoyed with the poor summer transfer business, the lack of quality addit...

Out until mid-October, I see.
We really seem to be in a backs against the wall situation already. If we lose on Saturday I think the presently low-level unrest amongst the fanbase rise up a few notches. Lets hope the players and manager respond well to the pressure.

For what it’s worth, I do think CMG and Maghoma look like they could be genuinely different and impactful options.

Re: Burn after Reading. Reading (A) League 1. Saturday 16th September 2023. 3pm KO
Could only follow the live text today, but a bitterly disappointing result given we seemingly spurred some easy chances. I go back to Evatt’s comments about there being no PL loanees he thought would add value to us this season, and I really, really cannot believe this can have been the case. We mus...

Re: Burn after Reading. Reading (A) League 1. Saturday 16th September 2023. 3pm KO
I’d have been at this one were it not for my pesky wife being on a hen do today. Soft play with the sprogs it is. 😐 Very difficult game to call, this one. Reading’s results have been mixed, and they’re clearly in a bad mess off the field, but they also seem to have some talented players. Wanderers m...

Re: The Champions Go Again! FLT at Home v Salford Sept 5th, 7:45
That's true re Dan. I noticed it particularly on Saturday but again last night, he doesn't look like a player who's trying too hard or chasing lost causes, which is what I'd expect from someone trying to force their way into contention. The movement from the midfield in the 1st half was great to se...
