Exciting stuff right now. Paul Casey is seven under in second, with Ian Poulter just two shots behind. Tiger Woods has made a real come back and is four off the lead. Nail-biting stuff.

Edit: Casey goes joint leader on eight under. COME ON!

Anybody know anything about a band called Glass Hammer? (Farewell to Shadowlands, Knights of the North etc). Hear a few scraps and they sound interesting.

Dear Lord Sluffy. Why do you keep drum-banging about hero-worship and what are you trying to prove? . Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, The Big Country, El Cid etc etc. How long ago were they made? They were bloody years ago. I enjoyed the parts Charlton Heston played in them. He was the right actor for th...

I have got to turn away when Jim Furik swings a golf club. Just when you think you have a mental picure, from watching the pros, to cure all your faults, along comes the weirdest looping dipping wallop in professional golf. Trouble is, he always hits what he's aiming at and is a damn good golfer.......

There's so many holes in that piece I don't even know where to start - it's one of the most laughable pieces of 'journalism' I've read for many a year... Of course, change the character names and locations and you have a totally aceptable piece from the Liverpool Echo. "The names and descriptions h...

[quote="ratbert"]Many actors loved by the public have political views or personal problems we are opposed to. But Errol Flynn's star didn't dim despite his depraved lifestyle (drugs, drink, girls of tender age), whilst Rock Hudson's commonly known sexual preferences failed stop him being worshipped ...

Heres a post I sent halfway through this thread, Sluffy, just to get it back on track so to speak. The "dont give a damn" was obviously from "Gone with the the Wind" and it was referring to Heston's activities outside films, not about other's views: Frankly, Tango, that was Clark Gable. Yes ...

Should I delete the post noting the death of a favourite film star then? Should people not post in your thread if they don't share your views of Heston then? People may view the man exactly as they wish. Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn! If you don't give a damn about others views then ...

I'm hard work! You are the one who seems to not to be able to accept the fact that others view Heston more for his NRA activities of recent years rather than his acting career from years ago. Should I delete the post noting the death of a favourite film star then? That's all it was ever mea...

That gun is older than the battle of the Almo, TD. Well, I didn't intend to go into the history of firearms Sluffy (it's probably a late eighteenth/early nineteeth Kentucky/Frontier flintlock, sort of thing Davy Crockett might have lugged around. You're all getting your facts scrambled. Guns weren't even invented when he brought the Ten Commandments down from the mountain and drove the chariot in Ben Hur. Twas all Burl Ives's fault for introducing him to them in The Big Country. He isn't exactly an AK47 fan, that rifle is straight out of The...

There are a lot of people about dripping in gold, driving big cars and screwing the state and the tax-payers senseless that deserve gassing , not the genuinly poor. Also in line are the benefit cheats, the bad-back legion, the wilfully unemployed, the identity fraudsters and all career criminals. So...

English traveller in Ireland isn't sure of his route. He parks in a lane and walks across to a farmhouse.

"Excuse me, but which is the quickest way to Cork?"

"Are you in a car or walking?" asks the farmer.

"In a car"

"That's the quickest way!"
