Pirates but not from Penzance. Away to Bristol Sat 6th Apr. 3-0'clock

Ignoring the very obvious jokey "Pistols from Bristol" headline because it's deadly serious now, we have a lengthy trip down to Bristol come Saturday. Whatever sort of game it will be, a "friendly doesn't exactly describe it. There's too much at stake for us. Bristol are in 14th league spot, so litt...

Re: General Chit Chat

Anyone know anything about building/extensions? Looking at having a small, single storey extension on the the back of our house. Quote for timber build over masonry is at least 10k cheaper. What are the pros and cons of timber?! (Other than it’s cheaper and built quicker!) Timber is alive all it's ...

Re: Race to the tape: 2024's League One promotion campaign

It'll be nice to play against sides who want to play football and win. Is rather do that than just fight dour draws against teams of cloggers. I reckon we're as good as most at pure football.

Re: General Chit Chat

I coach my son’s u8 team. This morning, one of our lads was racially abused by another kid from the opposition team. He was called an “f-in black monkey” the kids parent heard it and she went absolutely wild at him naturally. Turns out she’s a deputy head teacher and she was genuinely saddened, app...

Re: Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Bare Bones....

IE latest interview gives very positive news on the injury front - fingers crossed. Noises that Charles and Baxter could be ready for Saturday. I assume that Charles would only make the bench initially, but I suppose Baxter could start. Dan Nlundulu also supposedly close, although I struggle to see...

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock

I've replayed the goal highlights on Youtube time and time again. It's so good to watch when we are in full flow. I'm particularly pleased for JonBod, because he really covers some ground and works hard for the cause in general. Great that he got two "instinct" goals , the first being sheer delight....

Wasn't able to monitor as I was fortunate to attend today.

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock

What we did today, was beat a team playing some decent football by playing a bit better then them . Reading were actually impressive in attack and you could never fully relax at any point. Collins and Bod showed real quality and also the harassing defensively by both was praiseworthy. Coleman has we...

Re: Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock

Time to focus on now-today and beating Reading. At 4-45 we need to ignore what others have done and just have attained those three valuable points. Talk's cheap, you have to buy whiskey (as the saying goes, although I've been tee-total for years) so let's get out there and show some pride. COME ON Y...

2-2
Won't do Bertie, we need the win and points. We're at home and Reading have lost two of the last five games. Bristol have only won one of their last five and both are mid-table. Doesn't prove anything on the day, but we have to win.

Sounds like Dion has caused a few ripples in the camp by his decision to put N.I supporting over fitness training with the Whites. I love the man's playing, but he does seem to have a few attitude problems. Hope I.E can sort it soon.

some cheaper, tougher no nonsense in your face players to get us out of the league. This I fully agree with, but I think it's more getting the ones we have to learn how to be tough without falling foul of the ref. Easier I know, as we seem to be tarred with the "Bolton" brush officials are concerne...

Not between the lines...V Reading at home Monday Apr 1st 3-0;clock

I could have used April fools or April showers as a headline, but we don't want either to apply. We've had enough rain to refill the Thames lately, and neither us nor Reading will be fooling ourselves as to this being a literary affair. It will be war, believe it. It's another Bank Holiday fixture b...

I'm a bit baffled: We're in third place in the league table despite internationals and injuries, not losing games and not having the best of luck with officials. We have good players and no real reason to believe we're going to be handed promotion on a plate. In what way are we so much different tha...

Just a comment about the cloggers we played today: Hardly dazzling in their determination to hospitalise a few Whites were they? A very poor display by the whistle man too. Okay, they're excuses, but valid ones. Not exactly your Pierre Luigi Collina standard to say the least.

Re: What's Ste Evan's Age? 61, I think. Stevenage away. 29/03/2024 - 3pm

Sunday pub league stuff. The game was less than scintillating and the keeper to Sanchez stuff is becoming predictably boring, not to say risky in its repetition. Defenders just barge into us willy-nilly and Ricardo isn't winning challenges against faster players. We never really looked like scoring ...
