Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Lennon in the BN on Prince: It’ll be good to see him back out there (v Boro) and we think he’ll be fit. He loved the experience against Derby. His family were here and they just loved everything about the club and the atmosphere. That was a really good start for him. It couldn’t have been easy and i...

Hover through the fog and filthy air: Boro (A) 15.8.15

Not sure whether folk are confused by the McDons thread, mystified by the Burton match or transfixed by the Timmy transfer, but there's a game on tomorrow, up in smogland. Plenty of Lennon quotes to catch up on, all from the good ol' BN . (On Boro's spending power) You can never be envious in footba...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

I wonder if he'll steal the little gift Freedman was teasingly boasting for the Forest faithful. Coz whoever it was hasn't turned up there yet. Nixon says Hooper is no.1 target, but will have to move quick. Odd considering last week Alex Neil said he had no intention of letting Hooper go even on lo...

His last little gift, Moritz, got seven goals for us that season - joint-top scorer, although I guess that's the bar-lowering Worthy mentioned

Re: Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread

SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. I like Prats but central midfield is hardly a thin area Aye, but hes vitally important to how Lennon wants to play - Can;t help bu think it'll be Trotter taking his place.. *puts hands across eyes* Or Vela? Just 'cos Lennon brought the big lump on for 10 m...

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/13593959.QPR_set_to_sign_Wanderers_defender_Ream/ All but wrapped up for QPR. £1.4m up front, which could rise to £2m. Good luck and farewell, Tim! Now let's get us a goalscorer. It is a blow. He’s a good player but he’s a player whose loss we can hope...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

According to that, Heskey was contracted until next summer... Well spotted. Probably a load of rubbish then lol. There are other question marks - Heskey being on two grand a week, Trotter being on almost as much as Mavies, Mavies being on a fifth of Mills - but that would be informed speculation, w...

Re: Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread

SSN now reporting Pratley out for 'weeks'. I'm getting tired of supposedly minor injuries turning into big ones. Story of last season. Then, if players are injured at half time and our manager pushes them back out there to show they are up for it, we can expect more of the same. Out till internatio...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

I know you don't like the lad Boris but surely it's taking it a tad too far to suggest he's going to walk away with the lions share of the cash and leave us with peanuts? Never stopped Robbie Fowler getting filthy rich from doing it to Liverpool and Leeds Robbie Fowler (& his 'advisors'), found the...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

If we get Madine, Prince, Derik, Wilson, Pisano & Hooper (on loan) and clear a shed load of wages, I would declare this the most successful transfer window of the post-Allardyce era. Think Lennon is shrewd & it looks like he's got a good scouting network too (exactly what we've missed since Jack Ch...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

He's under contract to us. Generally, as I understand it, if the player or agent request a move, they forfeit the rest of their contract. ...which is why players will go to all possible lengths to not request a transfer. Ream didn't, and to be fair to him he didn't indulge in any of the other stuff...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

As is often the case, Boris is right T-Ream is contracted to summer 2017. If we take £20kpw as accurate, that's £2m we owe him. £2m we have signed a legal contract to say we will provide. What sometimes happens - but not always – is that as part of the fee, the buying club buy out his contract, in p...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Some sources stating Ream was on 20k a week. Presumably, we won't be paying up his contract so that's a huge amount in wages gained. There's a link here to the Daily Mail (sorry) from when we were signing him. Says we offered Ream £20,000 a week, which was 30 times his annual $55,000 salary in the ...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

why are we so damned poor at selling players? I'd say it's 'cos we're beggars rather than choosers, but we always seemed a bit poo at it even when we had (some) cash. Anyway, as this thread is about to hit 100 pages, anyone care to list the ins-and-outs for the window thus far? Personally I'm not t...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Ream is a marginally average Championship level defender Can something be marginally average? :D I think we've got enough centre-backs and despite BWFCi's qualms I'd love to see Kellett given a go at left-back (if and when Moxey's form dips). Priority for me would be a striker and a winger. I think...

Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

There's plenty enough very good full backs who are/were small. It's not a necessary barrier. If you're good enough you're tall enough? He's about an inch shorter than Clyne, for whom Liddypool paid £12.5m, and actually taller than Baines. I know some managers (eg Mourinho) like to only have a certa...
