Re: The Politics Thread

Serious question to those intent on remain, You lost a referendum You went to court and obtained a ruling that article 50 could only be initiated by parliament, you lost, Is it not about time the toys stopped coming out of the pram and everyone worked together to get a decent deal that suits all pa...

Re: £1.10 - ticket in 1975!

Around 1975 it used to cost 40p for kids to stand on either the embankment or the Lever end. 50p gave me 5p buzzy each way and 40p in. And in my lifetime there has always been Kids, Adults & OAP categories. I believe there's now another level to accommodate students too. Just under-23's unfortunate...

Aye, their precarious league position coupled with BSA's famous pragmatism means we should have a chance against a weakened side at Fortress Macron.

Oh, I'd definitely do the Bolton half again for a breakfast like that.

Agreed, not a big fan of them generally, and though Force Awakens was a bit shit but I loved Rogue One.

Re: The athletics/running thread

Earlier today I applied to do the Bolton Half Marathon inSeptember 2017 Anyone feel like joining me? £32 is a bit steep but it goes past my house so might as well if it doesn't clash with anything (like Bijou Bob's 4th wedding  ) £32 is a LOT steep. But it's one I haven't done before and with ...

Re: Contract expiry

Vela is showing how you play that attacking midfield role. Mark Davies simply wouldn't survive doing half what Vela does. Plus Vela has developed an end product well beyond Davies'. I wouldn't bother even entertaining the thought of having Davies next season. Not worth anything whatsoever. Vela's p...

Re: The Politics Thread

Did Morris resign the other night, by the way? I'm guessing not! You're guessing right. Apparently he was -to use a currently popular term- "outraged" at the idea. He's slipperier than a ball bearing in a tin of oil. Apparently the CEO of Anson's has just taken delivery of his 6th Lamborghini, yet ...

Re: Sports Shield - New Owners (Probably)

So Ken Anderson has become the LOAN owner of the club. See what I did there? £ £ £ £ £ Badoom tisch! Yes I treat all this 'KA has paid for stuff himself' news with great suspicion. One assumes he means he's paid it whilst the deal goes through as funds can't otherwise be released and he'd be reimbu...

Re: The Politics Thread

Why aren't people allowed to earn lots of money, without people getting pissed off? I think it's ridiculous. They'd soon stop that viewpoint if they all went "Ta'ra" and fvcked off overseas with their wealth. What a business chooses to pay their top floor is nobodies business except for the busines...

Re: the £9m losses I guess that would be the '800k a month' it cost to run the club, which the way it was phrased suggested that was the total expenditure per month which sounded low. £9m per annum loss makes more sense and is headed in the right direction. I'm guessing there's a few extra million i...

Re: The athletics/running thread

So, are we putting a little trot together of our own when GtE's up? We did mention at one point doing the mine-war memorial - Asda - Tom Ashton's - mine 10K at one point? That'd be great. Not home for a Saturday so something to aim for would be grand. Depending on when it is i'll be up for that. I'...

Haven't ran for a couple of weeks but will have a trudge round tomorrow, followed by a five sausage Saturday. Anyone else having a do? Legs should be nice and rested then. Plus, with all the weight you've dropped you should fly round. Thought you were looking a bit trim last Saturday, Bruce. In Col...

BEN is suggesting it is the Holdsworth/Anderson breakdown in relations that is the source of any current issues. Hopefully it is as simple as Deano selling his share to sort things out. Hard to understand how that prevents 2015 accounts being submitted but... http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa...

Re: BW Supporters Trust

It is going to be interesting to see what Ken says in the fans meeting later this month. From what we have been told thus far it is very hard to see why the accounts have not been submitted, given they were supposedly "ready to go" two months ago... I imagine the plan is to submit before then. And ...
