Re: Freedman out!
Are we in danger of losing Douglas to Palace? Given that he's a great manager, and Palace is really his spiritual home, wouldn't he go back there? Particular since the know-nowts and West-Stand Boo Boys have it in for him, and he has no money. Palace - a Premier League team - must surely be an attra...

Oh. You're right.Prufrock wrote:Mills and Wheater didn't start together in any of the games against Blackpool last year, did they?
Mills and Ream away in the 0-0.
Knight and Wheater in the Cup.
Knight and Wheater in the 1-0 at ours.
Fair enough. I thought they'd played together in the 0-0. Sorry.

Wasn't that what everyone was saying last season, before Blackpool, when we kept a clean sheet and they became a fairly reliable partnership?Prufrock wrote:Wheater and Mills together? *Shudders*

Re: Forest Home 16/08/2014 - Match Thread
OK - let's put the question another way - what excuse is acceptable for not going? I have numerous excuses: 1) There may be a reality tv cop show on PickTV. I can't miss one of them; 2) I have a bottle of Sainsbury's Basics Blended Whisky I can't wait to try (I'll post a photo in the whisky thread,...

Who did the baby boy lose 0-3 to?William the White wrote:I am about to buy the 0-3 baby boy set.
If they were adults, surely they could have let the kid win? Or at least score?
Or maybe best not to - prepare the poor kid for the misery of real life.

I presume, a1, that you're referring to Mr Owen Coyle, with your pictures of seals and table- tennis bats? You are aware, aren't you, that Mr Owen Coyle hasn't managed the Wanderers for almost two years? You seem to be labouring under some sort of misapprehension of logic in which you pointing out t...

Re: Freedman out!
There seems to be a disproportionate amount of attention paid to the guff that Douglas comes out with in press conferences (or "pressers" as we cognoscenti like to call them). Why? He hasn't criticised the team? Good. Do it in private. I'm loath to refer to Mr Alex Ferguson but I think that I'm big ...

Re: Freedman out!
Freedman regarded as a very good young manager (still is by ex pros who have commented in the press and on TV etc) could have that reputation wiped out here. Surely that's a problem whenever reputation and reality don't meet, and not simply a downside to managing Wanderers? He'd have his reputation...

Re: Freedman out!
Can we just settle one issue please. Do we or do we not have a massive debt? The chairman says not. If thats the case, we're a fantastic proposition for someone not earning any money presently. False dichotomy. It isn't just a case of either massive debt or fantastic proposition. We do have massive...

Personally, I think John Beck could do a job for us. Did well at Cambridge, gave Dion Dublin to the world, and produced the fantastic LP "John Beck's Guitar Shop". AND he invented bottled beer. Good point! I think that settles it. The campaign to bring in John Beck starts here. Gartside - how can y...

I do mean Gary, who has taken Chorley to bloody Football Manager territory and is, as you say, a Bolton lad. Oooh I didn't know he was an injunction man though. Has it been lifted? What's the goss?! Seriously though, took Chorley up two leagues on properly no money. Think it helped being able to ca...

Re: Freedman out!
I'd be very surprised if he was "assessed" after 10 games - surely it's far more likely that they'll just let his contract run down and then not renew it at the end of the season. As they did with Ngog, Eagles, etc... Apathy is the new passion. Anyway, whilst I wasn't intending to go to any matches ...

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I don't know. That is the most worrying thing. I don't see an exit strategy. Ultimately Eddie will have to write off most of that debt. I'm sure he accepts that. But I don't see anyone buying the club. Let alone investing in it. Perhaps the development plans around the ground are what they see as a...

Re: Abdoulaye's going t'Souk transfer thread
I thought from all previous pronouncements, as a matter of routine, targets were identified and agreed in advance, as were budgets. So its reasonable to think the manager has a reasonable idea of the game he's in and what he has to play with. All he then has to contend with is the roller coaster of...
