To tie in with the Doug Stanhope thread a few weeks ago, first few mins of that are about the pill culture in America. Jimbo sums it when he talks about incentives. The doctors stand to earn by prescribing, so they do.

How anyone can vote for another 5 years of labour is behond me, a scottish prime minister & scottish chancellor running England / Westminster - its a disgrace.
Yay for nationalism. Good you've nailed the priorities that REALLY matter.

Is this Mad Men any good? raved about by many - raved about by Charlie Brooker (which was what prompted me to have a look) I never lasted more than 20mins without nodding off... well filmed etc - but simply did not engage me - I was not interested in the lives of the characters... Aye Charlie is wh...

How do you know that then? Cameron has never been PM, whereas Brown is an unelected laughing stock. Cameron is just as "unelected" as Brown - nobody is elected Prime Minister by the electorate - they are ALL chosen by their party. I have a way to judge Brown's instincts because of his long track re...

The first time was annoying, just because it's so much information, after that I've always found it easy to deal with. I imagine they have introduced more new data, and there are teething problems with that.

Not a game changer. Clegg won by being himself and distinctive, whilst Cameron and Brown threw the same tired lines about NI and public services at each other like they were trapped in an every-ten-minutes version of Groundhog Day. "I agree with Nick" by both Cambo and Gordo suggests theres only on...

The found his level stuff is clearly bollocks, because he's proved he is good enough to play at this level before. He was, lest we forget, on the verge of an England call-up, and scoring goals for fun. It went wrong, for whatever reasons people may say, maybe his fitness suffered, maybe the burden o...

here's summat I don't get about Tory policy.. they are supposed to have as a central plank more localism - handing down power and decision making locally - small government etc... yet.. they have announced (seemingly arbitrarily) this big policy that ALL cancer drugs - regardless of NICE recommenda...

Clegg won hands down. He did try and talk policies and the cost of them (even though I don't agree with some of them). Cameron came across as way more personable than Brown, but the anecdotes and ducking on substantive responses didn't do him any favours. Don't think he did as well as he would have...
