Re: The athletics/running thread
X country season starts on Saturday, so I dragged my ar5e out on a 6 miler yesterday and I'm just about to pop out for a 3 mile session with sprints between alternate lamp posts. Injury still hasn't cleared properly yet and last night Mrs G tweaked her calf. Seems we are both going to be out of the ...

Re: Fore!!
When I dabbled at golf a few years ago I had a few people recommend insurance to me just in case of this type of instance occurring. Anyone on here insured for their golfing?

Re: Italian Restaurant in Bolton
If you're going that way for an Italian why would anyone not go to La Scala on the A6? Same deal, 9.99 for 3 good size course and the quality of food is top notch.

Re: Amanda Knox
No idea whether she really is innocent or not. Never really got to hear (or I missed) what was the connection between the household & Rudy Guede (sp?) and the other bloke who got mixed up in it all. Don't suppose we'll ever know now.
And I would too.

Fair play to Sturridge as well for his non reaction to the 2 (very easy) goals we gave him.

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
Aye. If we're playing 4-5-1 that becomes 4-3-3 then lets do it like BSA did it, with no wingers and a tighter midfield 5. Whilst we are leaking goals, Petrov needs to be kept well away from the starting XI

Re: Bolton vs Chelsea
That said, we are a disorganised rabble and the performances have been unacceptable. The performace against Norwich, for me was more worrying than today's, because we clearly had little clue against a recently promoted team with little spending power. What's really worrying is the fact he seems to ...

Shocking decision. I think he may have been influenced by the reaction of the 2 Liverpool players that immediately ran over, Adams and a n other. Needed to give himself a minute

however - all the guff about brave battling scots leaving with their pride intact... BOLLOX! - the longer they accept that - the longer they will go with little international success... If England had crashed out losing two out of four - and losing today in the way the scots did - it would NOT have...

Re: Where are you going tonight?
Tonight i should be at the pub but its my 2nd trip aborted in one week. :( Had a stomach upset when i was supposed to go mid week, and when M-I-L came round to babysit tonight she promptly threw up before i'd got out the door (with same bug?) so sent her back home. Sigh... Clearly i am not meant to...

I think so. It was around the time I stopped going and I remember the father in law being at that game. Could be wrong though

Was not McGinlays testimonial. Black African guy scored, can't remember his name though.
The postponed game V Preston was on a Saturday afternoon. Last pre season game before the start of the season. I would guess it was around 2004 ish.

Just finished 'Outposts' by Simon Winchester. One of the most enjoyable books I've read in a long while. Quite old, as first published in 1984, but if places like Tristan De Cunha, St Helena and other such places from our colonies fascinate you as they do me, I would highly recommend it.

Anyone on here done their local park run? Might give it a go this weekend as part of my road back to fitness. Mind 9am on a Saturday is a bit early for me.

Re: The Politics Thread
Moving away from the traveller debate. Does anyone anywhere think Ed Milliband is up to the job? Being left of centre I'd like to see Labour being led by somebody half decent. This guy just strikes me as a typical 21st century manufactured politician. He seems to be a master at pre rehearsed- stick...
