Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions

Now apparently Kyrgyzstan not Kazakhstan. Pardonable error. Mixing your Kyrgyzys up with your Kazakhs, Monty. I'm surprised at you. Not me, CNN. is it really pardonable for CNN to mix up two countries? CNN has been God Awful this whole time. Almost useless really. A fall from grace is complete.

Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions

I'll respond with "go feck yourself". I'll take the ban if deemed necessary but I'm not having that. Being able to use "go feck yourself" and "if deemed necessary" in the same post you are excused a flogging. Think you both got a little bit mixed up somewhere in the thread. Admit it, shake h...

Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions

I see no reason to refrain. The point I was trying to make to AT, rather rudely I might add, is that it is exactly at times like these that the lessons learnt from past mistakes re terrorism should be reiterated. There is no need to shy away from this and "leave it for another day". I took this as ...

I find the suggestion of some sort of irony unfortunate and am glad that Bobo at least refrained. I see no reason to refrain. Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions

It turns out his father may not have ran the marathon, but the injuries to his sister and his mother are in fact correct. See, even near the epicenter with access to local sources the information gets dispersed that is not accurate. Estimates of over 180 imjured at this point, but no further deaths....

Re: Boston Marathon hit by explosions

The 8 year old is not a Sandy Hook survivor, but he had just watched his Dad finish and in fact had just hugged him and returned to his sisters and mum. Mum and one sister (lost a leg) is now in hospital as well. The Sandy Hook contingent was found to be safe. The police had bomb sniffing dogs inspe...

His first season when he scored against Southampton and kissed the badge afterwards. He had already turned into our kind of player. I was (stupidly) happy for a pro-footballer, but I always felt that he was happy to be with us. That moment kind of epitomised it for me. I never liked Southampton beca...

Re: Looking for european game scarf collection

People are funny about scarfs huh? I have two in my office. CC Final 2004 and the Taking on Europe 2005/2006. I went to the Plovdiv home match and the CC Final. But growing up I had scarves from games I never went to. Just sheer pride in my hometown. Doesn't it seem a bit harsh to hate on a fan of y...

What a sad thing. Sadly typical of worker risks back then. I still listen to the song by the Houghton Weavers now and again. Have a drink before you listen and it'll make the room quite dusty.

Re: Nostalgia! Your top three moments being a Wanderer

1. Lokomotiv Plovdiv. 1st European Night and my 1st home win. 2. Bobic's Hat Trick v. Ipswich. That was relief of safety and revenge all at once. 3. Home V Tottenham to start the season with Campo's daisycutter. Was just a great example of the good years. Starting a season winning against Tottenham.

Had the t-shirt. Wore it to school a lot. No one knew what the hell it was about, but I didn't care at all. Wore it till it barely held together.

Re: 27 Dead In USA Primary School Shooting.

Firefighters are those that rush in when others rush out. Combine that with the feeling attached to all of the first responders perishing on 9/11 and you get Patriotism. I for one have always admired Fireman. Regardless of what they do in their downtime they are people whose job it is to risk their ...

The US is a wonderful place. A lot of our problems are different than those of Europe, but it just means there are different challenges. You may see a high amount of what makes us different in a negative light, but it's much the same that we in the US only get to see you all as too PC, socialized, ...

Re: 27 Dead In USA Primary School Shooting.

Mummy, You have got to stop the divisive president rant. You keep bringing it to the table every time. It is obvious you do not care for him and your political brethren in the US follow the same line of thinking. Block him at every path, say he cant build a foundation of bi-partisanship, and then la...

There are many reasons those that people give as to why they keep guns. Fear seems to be a truthful reason, I think it probably is... to the outsider (so this may be wrong) - it seems that the U.S. is basically a very fearful and insecure nation... which doesn't chime well with their idea that they...

Re: 27 Dead In USA Primary School Shooting.

There are many reasons those that people give as to why they keep guns. Fear seems to be a truthful reason, but people are also very wary of curtailing of this right by government. In their eyes there are other ways to overt this tradgedy (yes including MORE guns) but there are few ways to feel safe...

Mr Crayons needs to stop with the think tank-esque dispersions on President Obama's ability to lead. Like him or not he was known as a consensus builder before he took office. He pushed through several unpopular items (he thought were needed, you can debate that they weren't) that the opposing party...

Why is software always installed with the language option English (United States)? There's never an English (British) or god forbid an English (England) option. Why is that? Because American's probably don't realise they speak English. They speak American don't they? Sadly, this is more true than I...
