Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/16611227.bolton-try-to-tempt-ex-newcastle-star-papiss-cisse-in-loan-deal/ Good news Insane. We're not signing Papiss Cisse. Ken thought all the "S"s in his name were "$" and wouldn't have a bar of it. He has in mind an amount of "S"s a player can have in their na...

Rangers have signed Forest's England U21 centre-back Joe Worrall. Might (or might not) make Beevers less likely.
We are not signing an England U21 centre-back.
Especially from Forest.
And not one called Worrall neither.
Let's get that straight! Yes, siree Bob!

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

RUMOUR: Pete O’Rourke via LOVS possibly left back Pape Souaré on loan. The former Lille left back has struggled to regain his place in the Palace side since a horrific road accident back in September 2016. We aren't signing a left back. Insane. You know this is a rumour thread - not a quash rumour ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

I was looking up that Sam Gallagher. Tall. 6ft 4in. Got 11 goals for Blackburn as they battled then got relegated. Got 6 for Birmingham as they battled then didn't get relegated, Not prolific but he has real experience (80 odd games) battling relegation in the championship level. Though when Briming...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Heard a rumour, take it for what it is....that only movement tomorrow is outwards...in spite of Parky saying nobody is going that Vela might be on his way. Possibly even Beevers too. Seems like Ken hasn’t been able to agree to a BM loan extension and needs to raise cash. Could be nonsense. But has ...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Sun saying Blackburn may come calling for Vela if West Brom snatch Dack away
Valuations seem a bit dodgy.
Dack $7m? Don't sell.
Vela $5m? We'll take it.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Neither Boyd nor Gallagher sound like real feasible deals.
Chuks sounds dead in the water too. Just sounding out or Ken making more mega-bucks me noise.
We really need another striker.
Probably have to come out of leftfield too. At the last possible = cheapest minute.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

"Sources at the club have dismissed suggestion that Josh Vela or Mark Beevers could leave before the deadline. Midfielder Vela’s situation has been monitored by Leeds United and reports have repeatedly linked defender Beevers to Rangers. Wanderers say they will not allow their squad to be weakened,...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Interesting to watch the (respectful) discussion between BWFCi & PT. In a slightly balder fashion, I'll say this: After the last summer deadline, our central attacking options were Madine, Le Fondre, Wilbraham and Armstrong. After last winter deadline, that became Le Fondre, Wilbraham, Clough and W...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

LOVS has us linked with young Aston Villa winger Andre Green. Likely to be loan only as he's played four games this season We need another striker. Parky was insisting on one before ALF left. OR We're going to be stuck playing one up front all year. Which is okay when it's Magennis but not really D...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Insane? had a good description of Vela, premiership athlete, league 1 skills. If he wasn't local he'd be long gone. If someone's offering something decent we'd be fools not to take it. What's 'something decent'? Unless we're talking £5m+ I think it would be absolute madness to sell now. ' You might...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

what about Williams? He seems to have it all apart from goals - based on his higlights from last year in our division. There's your issue. The lad looks a player, but you can't say he can do a particular job based off a highlights reel. But we were just saying no-one else on the squad (apart from L...

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread

Not sure how anyone would see losing Vela as a good thing, given how much we need his energy in midfield. He's not the most talented midfielder ever, but he's a better footballer than Pratley and he does that job better. We've nobody else in the squad who can do it. what about Williams? He seems to...

Re: Blunting the Blades and walking on the Wilder side? BWFC v Sheffield Utd 25/8/18

Like Preston, they're someone I think we should be looking to aspire to. Get our finances on an even keel and look to play as they do & develop & sell players as they have Aye, it's the avenue I'd want us to go down as well. Preston are a particularly good example, what with them being a similar si...

Oi are we still 3rd?
I kept refreshing the BBC Championship page but we never moved down. Wow.
It does not feel like we are 3rd overall.

Re: Blunting the Blades and walking on the Wilder side? BWFC v Sheffield Utd 25/8/18

Well the bubble has burst back to looking for relegation rivals. Maybe we should have got McGoldrick. He retained possession well. Better sub for Magennis than Donaldon who gets dragged out wide to hang with SAmeobi to confuse the .commentators. Couple of times we went to cross but couldn't cause wi...

Re: Blunting the Blades and walking on the Wilder side? BWFC v Sheffield Utd 25/8/18

I thought Grounds was good with some of his passing/crossing.

Get Williams on.
Ozzy is a (minimal) waste of space. We're not a passing team and he can't win ball.
He'd probably be alright for them.
