Hello there

Post by Sausages » Sun Feb 25, 2007 9:23 pm

Greetings from Halliwell!

Having trawled through quite a few Wanderers-based web sites during long and unproductive days in the office, I haven't really found much to write home about it. Until now that is....

This looks like a quality site, and I'm pleased to have stumbled across some of the Tripe 'n' Trotters massiv', who I've been keeping a eye out for, in vain, for far too long now at t'Reebok. Are all these here fanzines just on the interweb these days?

Evenin.

I too found this place as a result of searching for TnT drivel.

G'day, snagster. You'll find a divers mob of contributors on this site. Spats are short and text speak is frowned upon.

Most of us get on pretty well, most of us can spell and express our thoughts reasonably well while forgiving those who type whilst in their cups. :D

Get stuck in, old chap or chapess, and enjoy yourself.

Welcome, sausages, and tell us a little bit about you and BWFC.

Thanks for the warm welcome chaps. I've been a'trottin' for about 15 years or so now; earliest memory (aside from vague images as a boy of Burnden Park as a noisy and enormous universe on its own) is of travelling down on a coach to watch Bolton against Tranmere in the play-offs in 1991.

All I can really remember is that the seats in Wembley had no backs to them and that we lost.

Favourite Burnden Park memory is of Dicky Sneekes walloping the ball past a flapping goalkeep from about 35 yards out during a 4 or 5-0 demolition of Wolves in what was the old second division. Fantastic stuff. Those were the days...

Cowmans' (Clitheroe) Pork and Black Pudding win the day on that front. Obviously no good as your staple sausage, but unbeattable as an occasional treat.

I can't say I've tried Pork and Tripe, or Beef and Trotter, but I'm willing to try anything twice...

Hello Sausages.

We posh Sharples types are partial to a little Wild Boar, Chianti & Shallots Sausage whenever possible. They're about £12 a shot though at the Farm Shop at Westmorland Services. Outrageous, but they do have an 85% meat content so they're not your average lard, rusk and sawdust affair.

Hope you enjoy the site.

Cowmans' sausages are brilliant - Nice N' Spicy are a keen favourite of mine :P

Actually, the fanzine available on the front page is the *second* printed The-Wanderer fanzine. We really should get the first one up somewhere - Bench?!

Anyway, welcome, Sausages - glad you found us eventually.
