Your English is more than likely better than our Korean. :D

You're doing pretty well so far.

Hi Kihyun.

Welcome to the site and your English is fine. Most English people can only speak one language so don't worry about it. We all want Chung Young Lee to do well here and he's made a great start.

hello and I hope you make many future posts as that would likely mean Chung Yong is doing well. Looks like he might be our super sub for a while yet, but so far the developments are very promising.

I'd say your standard is pretty good. My younger son is a software engineer who works for CAE, an simulator producer. He fixes what the pilots see. He gets sent all round the world, not just North America. In the last year he has been to Australia (twice), Germany (twice and currently still there), Dubhai and Hong Kong. He speaks English and French and was generally able to get by (with a little trouble in Australia of course). However in Inchon, South Korea he found that no one outside the hotel spoke English. The hotel attached two tags to him - the left side giving his work address and the right side the hotel address - to show to taxi drivers when toing and froing. He felt like some 8 year old refugee child stuck on an aeroplane by an aid agency to be delivered to a new country. Of course once our shirt sales pick up everyone will be able to say bet186 or whatever it is.

They do the same in Thailand, Montreal - when taking a cab from hotel to wherever, they give you a little card with the hotel name written in Thai so you can show it to the driver to avoid being taken back anywhere that you wouldn't want to be....makes sense.

In the late Eighties, during my Roister Doister episodes in Bolton Town Centre, I regularly had to pour my friend into a minicab and write his address down for the driver as he tended to speak gibberish after 10 O'Clock. Is that the same?
