Hello Fellow Trotters
Hi, I am a Bolton Wanderers fan since I start playing football when I was about 11. I am from
Dublin so you can imagine that I get alot of stick and not many people to discuss Wanderers Current
Affairs with as the majority of Ireland support Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
I look forward to discussing topics with fellow Wanderers fans .

I grew up in a Leeds/Liverpool house and I guess I wanted to rebel . Seriously tho, I just wanted to be different and didnt wanna get caught up in the Man U vs Liverpool war that my mates were in haha. So I decided to support Bolton. At first Nobody believed I was serious until I start buying the jerseys and showing a real interest in their welfare etc... Now I just put up with the stick but wouldnt change it for the world .TANGODANCER wrote:Hi Eire Trotter. Welcome to TW. What got you supporting the Super Whites? My dad was a Mayo man who thought hurling was the finest sport in the world and put up with football because there was none about in Lancashire.
Hurling aye? Not a big thing around Dublin these days TD, a dying sport if ya get me.

HE wants to know when they stopped being called Eire
For instance I had a game on my old NES circa 92? which had the Rep Ireland team down as Eire
I'm quite young compared to CAPS so I can't remember what else, but I'm assuming thats what the team would be called on the tele (as in Holland are the Netherlands etc)...

Say what you like about Wikipedia - it appears to have nailed this one fairly comprehensively.
Oh, and welcome Eire Trotter! I think you'll like it here.

Welcome, by the way.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
