Newbie to The Macron/Reebok

Post by ForeignEnquiry » Mon Jul 18, 2016 2:57 pm

Hi,

I'm a massive football fan (I won't state who as I don't know who I'd upset) but I'm not a Bolton fan.

I have however started going out with a girl from Horwich and she's never been to a football match, even though she lives a 5 minute drive away from the ground. As she's from Bolton, I realised it would be a mistake for her first game to be anybody but Wanderers, so we're going to the Sheff United game.

I'm wondering where the best stand is for atmosphere for a start, and where are the best matchday pubs?

You never know, I might develop a soft spot for Wanderers after this!

(If this isn't the right place for this, I do sincerely apologies, but any help would be regarded highly!)

Thanks,

FE

East Stand (Lofthouse Stand) Lower is your best bet, Chief. Come on, who's your team? We're a friendly bunch :)

I'm a Manchester City fan. I didn't know if I'd get a bit of stick for it or not. Not too sure of Bolton' feelings towards us Blues!

Better than Blackburn and Wigan though!

Best pub is probably Barnstormers on Lostock Lane. Decent beer and atmosphere.

A lot of people preferred us when we were shit.

It was more exciting in a strange way. Beat United and avoid relegation was the aim 10 years ago!
