Well, I want to apply for admission in a couple of NYC universities. The ones in California are better for what I do (movies/telly), but I've been told LA is shit.

Califorbia is a heck of a big state. LA has problems (urban poor, crowded freeways, smog, etc.) but there are many universities in smaller cities where the lifestyle is probably good - depends what you want of course. NYC is a fascinating place to visit but not to live IMHO. If I went to a city of the east coast it would be Boston (don't tell AT or he'll get a big head), where thare are 60 universities and colleges, on the west coast likely San Francisco.

I actually tried to move to Boston when I applied for another grant during my "regular" student life 7 years ago. Ended going to Prague, though. Hell of a cool place and some of the best times of my life.

Dunno, now that I know I have the grant I'll sit with all the the university brochures and make a decision. As I said the most reputed filmmaking universities (AFI, UCLA...) are in LA but for the little time I've spent in the US I feel I'm more of an East Coast guy. Looks more European.

Well everyone else is whoring their city, come to Melbourne! It wasn't voted the most livable city for nothing. Said to be very European and it's absolutely gorgeous. Australia supposedly has one of the best education systems in the world too.

Oh and who doesn't like Australia and Australians? ;)
