Globe Trotting

Post by keveh » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:52 pm

There have always been a large number of supporters who are not from the UK, this site is one of the ways that foreign users get their BWFC kick.

We have thought of an idea that we want to run past the members abroad, just to see if you think if would help or hinder you.

We were thinking of introducing a new option in your profile to select that you are not in the UK, by selecting this, it would show the following image below your avatar:

The aim of this is for members abroad to easily see others who don't have the benefit of being able to get to games. What we don't want to happen is this be something that other members can pick up on and an target in arguments, e.g. "you don't even watch the games" crap that comes out time and time again.

So, just vote yes or no if you like the idea, feel free to leave more feedback in the thread.

Like it. Makes it a miles* more interesting place to discuss. Example today of the insight into Korean National Service requirements.

I certainly have no problem (and voted yes) although someone would have to be pretty dense not to realize I'm, as the Newfoundlanders say, 'from away'.

A most considerate thought, keveh, but it doesn't worry me. My 'location' information would, I assume, be sufficient for most posters.

So it's just a click on option, there's none of this 'tracking' bollocks that finds out where you are and tells everyone? I thought you meant that, if not, I'm not as bothered as my 'no' vote would make out :D
