More than likely it will be a spam bot or 3. All automated. Get Kev to stick a question in the registration along the lines of what is 5 +3. Most spambots get confuddled by that and can't register.

What's the point in a spam bot though?

A spam bot is a bit of code. The aim to register and post on forums lots of lovely spam. The idea being exactly the same as email spam. A bit of code can spam a lot of sites in the time it'd take you or I to spam one or two. I guess it only take a couple of idiots to click through to make it worth their while.

I keep getting adverts appearing in the bottom right corner of my screen - aorund one every three minutes. Are they something to do with the site or have I done something I shouldn't? If so, anyone know how I make them stop?

You prob keep your anti virus up to date and do regular scans
