Straight from the service provider:
It was basically down for the morning.
We are currently looking into an issue that appears to be affecting access to our systems.
This has been identified and confirmed by our providers as a problem with Level(3), our main bandwidth provider. Level(3) staff are working to correct this fault as quickly as possible but are unable to provide an ETA at this stage.
The problem has now been corrected. We will post information here on the cause of the problem once we have received this from our suppliers.

Or in other words...."We needed to put another 50p in the meter and no one had any change. The good news is though that we all got a McDonalds breakfast out of it because it was the only way we could break a twenty pound note."We are currently looking into an issue that appears to be affecting access to our systems.

No there were major problems last night. BT broadband was out of action across the country most of the evening and speaking to some people at work it appears this had knock on effects to other providers level of service.

Found out it was a break-in into a Birmingham exchange that caused the problems for BT, 35,000 phone lines cut and a load of broadband down as well.
