Champions League tonight

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

About as good as it gets when you're not watching Bolton is seeing Liverpool concede a last minute own goal in front of the kop.

Really like how Riise was able to barge Drogba in the back blatantly but according to the "unbiased" *cough* commentary that was "no contact".

However, its fine for Liverpool players to fall over when breathed on.

I really thought Beglin was going to cry at the end!

Well, any football's better than no football, so I watched the Tom Mix Show at Anfield tonight (on TV of course). Highlights were:

Terry got a yellow. Rather sad, he should have had a red before half time. The man's a football thug. Then again, the officiating right through was a joke. Mind you, every time a Chelsea player got the ball, 45,000 voices shouted "Foul"

Drogba has been asked to do the next " Son of Rambo film". He's a better actor than Stallone and he gets shot in the back by a crossbow with such commitment. He has the hairstyle too.

Kuyt was MOTM by a country mile; never stopped running, was always dangerous and he just gets up and gets on with it instead of crying and dummy-spitting.

Oh, and the commentators are such wonderful footballers aren't they? "Could have done better" "Could have hit that harder"

Well, that 's it then. Off to Stamford Bridge. :|

Beglin used to play for tonight's team and in any commentary never has a good word to say (a missed chance is the striker's fault, a goal poor defending). Tyldesley used to commentate on Liverpool for Radio City and I'm sure I've read him admit somewhere that he used to "admire" them as his favourite team, then switched to United oh, about 15 years ago. Y'know, like a nice person would.

Am I the only one who has been brainwashed by 'The Allardyce way'?

Only, when the Chelsea equaliser went in, my first comment was "Well if you leave 2-on-2 in your own box in the last minute of a game you are winning 1-0, then you deserve everything you get" .

(FWIW, My Brother in Law, A Citeh fan, looked at me like I'd gone mad!).
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Tell you what LK, some of the 'Pool displays in their run to 2005 Big Cup glory ran the Allardyce/Megson "what we have we hold" template through the extrapolator. And, of course, it worked. Given Rafa's knowledge of how to progress in away-goals situations, you raise a pertinent tactical point.

They've run it pretty close this time too DSB...Didn't they need to win their last three CL mini-league matches to get through?

Hope Liverpool slaughter them at Stamford Bridge

In a tight game an equaliser is always possible at 1-0.

Thats football.

We mullered Pompey and lost 1-0.

Chelsea were slightly lucky, but equally had Malouda and Lampard been a little sharper they'd have scored a couple of times in the second half. Not to mention Cole's two great chances in the first.

Still not sure where the ref got five minutes from. In a Bolton game with Chelsea or Liverpool leading it would have been one.

Me either, but then his performance was 'puzzling' throughout.
