Would it be asking too much to laugh at Arsenal?
Four nil-nils in a row, from the club who bring you The Beautiful Game (c). They also bring you the most above-station, ungrateful and spoilt fans around. Wenger has truly become a victim of his own success.

Agree entirely.Verbal wrote:Four nil-nils in a row, from the club who bring you The Beautiful Game (c). They also bring you the most above-station, ungrateful and spoilt fans around. Wenger has truly become a victim of his own success.
4 0-0 in a row.
Fooking hell.
Wenger must surely be sacked.
Arsenal are the anti-football. Disgracefully negative team and negative manager.
Is Wenger out yet? No. Fooking hell their chairman must be corrupt.
Wenger out.
He is the anti-football.
Why is he so defensive.
Arsenal are the stain on the premiership!
Do you want me to drag up the West Ham thread, hobo?hoboh2o wrote:So we should laugh at a team with this record;

against ours;

I always saw these kind of threads as irrational places for laughing at other clubs for any reason anywho.

I am at a loss as to why we would want to laugh at Arsenal. Arsene carefully constructed a 5 year plan, specifically around buying players to combat Bolton Wanderers feking up his title dreams at the Reebok. So look at the improvements.
No more title dreams up in smoke after "yet another defeat at the Reebok"
No more soft arses in the MF - the respective disciplinary records this season - Arsenal 45 Y and 3 R against Bolton's poor showing of 47 yellows, but only one maximum. What an improvement!
No losses to Bolton Wanderers this season.
No nasty "late in the season" fixtures at the Reebok.
Should make the title challenge a cake-walk.

Wenger's plan is totally flawed. He thinks he can work with promising young players and have a great team for the next 10 years. But if you don't win trophies, you won't keep the likes of Fabregas and Adebayor around for long. Wenger totally bought his own hype and needs to go out and spend this summer.

When considering or not whether to laugh at a club, you need to compare the expectation of their fans with the achievement of the club. That's why Manchester City and Newcastle are so funny. Expectation : Huge. Achievement: Bugger all.
In the case of Arsenal the expectation was title contenders and a nailed on Champions League place. The first of those is dead in the water and the second ain't looking good.
Add to that their manager, who for all his qualities is a hypocritical whinge bag who demands that his players cheat, and the fans who are whiny, snivelling gobshites, and you have a recipe for a good giggle.

Very skillful players, great ball control, passing is excellent (usually sideways or backwards though) and they are delightful to watch play. But, they miss Henry so much, no one else appears capable of scoring on a regular basis, that must have been the worst transfer in history for the selling club.
Also, the players don't seem to have the heart or fight for a competitive game, they expect to win and can't hack it when they don't. A reflection of their manager I guess.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Don't think your that far from the truth there HP.H. Pedersen wrote:Selling Henry was the right choice. He hasn't exactly proved to be a wise purchase for Barcelona. The problem is with the mentality of the team. They try too hard to get the perfect goal, which means they waste a lot of half-chances.
How many times could they have unloaded a shot but gone for the "extra pass" instead of "shoot when you see the whites of the eyes".

Losing Vierra, Pires, Henry ,Bergkamp and the underpants model all within a reasonably short space of time, football-wise, on top of Adams and Keown made Arsenal almost unrecognisable for a time. They still play damn good football and have been without Rosicky and Van Persil oft times enough. They'll be back.
