But surely, since it leaves from Walkden, the only reasons one couldn't 'make sheff u' would be because one is busy, or one can't afford it, both of which also rule out this appetising day trip.

Have you ever been, Jimbo? I'm guessing not. One of the best cities in Britain. Wonderful place and a belting night out. It's Burn's Night on Monday so this weekend will be fantastic. My two favourite Weegie spots for haggis, neeps and tatties are The Babbity Bowster in the Merchant City and The Ubiquitous Chip, which is up west. I wish I was able to go.

OK, if you've got what used to be Candleriggs Market to your back, look across the road and over to your left and you'll see some relatively new apartments built on and around the old fire station. You're going down the back of there. Fantastic place.
