But, a better shout, is surely Kevin Keegan. Ex-Scouse Legend. Experience of being a returning messiah. Experience of management at the very top level. Experience of doing loads of squat thrusts next to Brian Hooper on Superstars.
And falling off his bike. Bleeds red just to prove it.

Sorry Puskas, you're wrong. The outstanding candidate and I hear there are already campaigns of literally 10's of people taking place in Liverpool City centre for this to happen....ex Liverpool Ledgend and managerial hotshit....John Barnes.Puskas wrote:Surely young Rafael isn't going to go until he's got another job lined up? I know I wouldn't throw £13million away...
If he doesn't, then he sticks around at Liverpool. There's been no response from his "people" over this offer.
As for Liverpool - if he does go, who next? Roy Hodgson? Can they afford the compensation to Fulham? Would he want to go?
I reckon Allardyce would be good for them - could bring back some of the glory days. But again compensation would be due to Rovers.
Gary Megson's available.

It's got to be him, hasn't it?
Question is would such a pedigree be prepared to take on the mess that is Liverpool?
Time will tell.

Yeah, but, hmmm...ratbert wrote:*Cough* Inter Milan *cough*Puskas wrote:Surely young Rafael isn't going to go until he's got another job lined up? After all, he's entitled to £16million if they want at the moment, isn't he?
Surely, if Inter really were interested in him, Liverpool would be better not saying owt, waiting for a formal approach, and then "reluctantly" allowing him to speak with them, after receiving a compensation package? Rather than telling him he can go, and take £3million with him?
As for the other candidates for the Liverpool job - both good calls, but I still think that Keegan has more messianic experience than either Barnes or Aldridge. And it's a messiah that Liverpool need right now, if they're to avoid to hideous indignity of finishing in the top eight of the Premier League.

Whereas Megson just struggles. And once Torres leaves, he'd be the only manager daft enough to spend money on Elmander. And as a bonus, Sir Nutcase would probably go and bother RAWK. Its win-win for me.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, I happen to think that it's a sad day for the beautiful game. Just another modern day football icon sacrificed at the altar of greed and lack of achievement.
Anyway, enough about the imminent sad demise of this thread - we can have a new thread tearing into whoever is the next nutter to accept the Yanks' golden dollar!

Can't we follow Benitez through unemployment and into his next job?!Zulus Thousand of em wrote:Well, I happen to think that it's a sad day for the beautiful game. Just another modern day football icon sacrificed at the altar of greed and lack of achievement.
