Errr, so Capello bases his selection on Monday's edition of Super Goals? Right ho.
As for hindsight - who would have predicted that Rooney would be so abysmal? We also lost Rio before he even kicked a ball.

Foz - if our players (mentioned earlier) wore WHU shirts - they'd have been capped in no time.
If we play well and beat you, the f*cking write-up is all about West ham did wrong, shoe on the other foot and you get your a*ses wiped clean.
Simples.
As for your fans moaning about Davies being a thug - did they hate Julian Dicks then?

You mean every football fan!H. Pedersen wrote:Nonsense. Every Bolton fan would have told you that Upson and Green would be disasters at World Cup level. You could call that a mistake but hindsight is a wonderful thing and practically every England player was sh*t.

That happens with us and any Big Four team.as wrote:Foz - if our players (mentioned earlier) wore WHU shirts - they'd have been capped in no time.

That's what we're saying. If a player plays for you and a Big Four team, they'll catch the break.fozzy wrote:That happens with us and any Big Four team.as wrote:Foz - if our players (mentioned earlier) wore WHU shirts - they'd have been capped in no time.

You're kinda missing the point here fella. Players of a no higher standard than Davies are not just getting a smattering of begrudging praise, they are getting the full on bukkake treatment on TV and the written media, and being given caps for England. And all because of who they play for. And as has been stated, our record over the last decade, we have a better league record than you guys. Added to which, in our purple patch of 8th, 6th, 8th, 7th (and being a realistic shot at fourth in two of those seasons) there was nary a mention of our three main Englishmen and England. If this were Spurs, or West Ham, they would have been too busy grunting with cock in hand on match of the day to speak. And by the way, that record of finishes was the best and most consistent outside the top four in the first decade of this century..fozzy wrote:

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

There is something in our nature, possibly the baser part, that allows us to take pleasure in other people’s misfortune. Most fans around the league “fecking hate” our club. They talk of route one, the death of the beautiful game and the thuggish approach of Super Kev. Many would sell their mothers to see us relegated and the angst grows each year as we stick around while others fall. It is amusing to read the bile on the occasions that we beat their team. Yet none of these react more strongly than West Ham fans, none get so high before the game, none crash so deeply after a loss, none have a greater hate for our Kev, and none have had to endure quite so many defeats at the hands of little old Bolton. For this reason, despite a twinge of sympathy for the eminently sensible Fozzy, I seem to derive greater pleasure from West Ham misfortunes when playing us than other teams, enjoy reading KUMB more than other forums (fora if you prefer), and even find the Spy in better form with them than others (though there are teams I dislike far more than them). I consider this a flaw in my character and should see a psychologist if they are not all busy with West Ham – er – strikers.

Anyway, new reason to smirk.... Alessandro Diamanti. Bought last season for £6mil, sold today for £1.8mil.
What's more, wasn't he relatively ok fozzy? I think I might be being clouded by MoTD highlights packages, but he certainly had an eye for the spectacular goal.
I don't know if he was on bigger wages, but Benni McCarthy cost more than that.

From what I've seen on KUMB he was on about £17,000 a week. They don't seem overly fond of him on there, tho admittedly that's after he'd gone, as seem to think he was a bit of a show pony without much to back it up. Even so, a £4 million loss over a year? Ouch! Unless it's West Ham of course, in which case it's hilarious.Tombwfc wrote:Anyway, new reason to smirk.... Alessandro Diamanti. Bought last season for £6mil, sold today for £1.8mil.

Like The Sun want him to do? On the basis he has scored a hat trick against Villa?Lord Kangana wrote:Can't Control has 7 caps??!! Seriously??!! F*ck me, they'll be calling up Andy Caroll next.....
The gormless Italian vowed to rebuild after our World Cup debacle by bringing in young players.
But the silly ass has ruled Arsenal whizkid Jack Wilshere, 18, out of next month's vital Euro qualifiers.
Wilshere made his Three Lions debut in the friendly victory over Hungary and also won rave reviews in the Gunners' first two games this season - but is now dumped back into the Under-21 squad.
There will also be no place for Newcastle's Andy Carroll, 21, when the squad is announced on Sunday - despite a hat-trick against Aston Villa

Always thought Diamanti looked pretty good whenever I saw him. I would have been pretty happy if we got him for £1.8 million.Tombwfc wrote:Anyway, new reason to smirk.... Alessandro Diamanti. Bought last season for £6mil, sold today for £1.8mil.

Seems like it's an scenario in which a new manager would outcast players in order to fund their own preferred players. Except, perversely, on this occassion, it's the chairmen doing it!!Tombwfc wrote:Anyway, new reason to smirk.... Alessandro Diamanti. Bought last season for £6mil, sold today for £1.8mil.
