Real vs Barca champions league

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

The return of Abidal makes all this bickering seem even more pointless, even more mindlessly petty and demeaning to both clubs, than it did before.

Much more enjoyable game.

The potential for 'up the arse corner' made it all the more sexy

That is a fooking brilliant picture, and probably indicative of what goes on in the Barca dressing-room.
Absolutely shames me to say it, but I'll be up for United in the final. For the last few years (since Spurs appointed Redknapp and Barca appointed Guardiola) I've said I'd only shout for United against those two teams, and so it will be. >_<
That said, I hope they absolutely bludgeon the bejeezus out of one another. Many broken legs and severed limbs would be just lovely. Pity they're both a bunch of softies.

I hope Barcelona play them off the park. And win too.

I'm hoping for the kind of victory they had against arsenal, no manchester united shots, completely outplayed, and somebody sent off for something ridiculous.

As much as I dislike United I will still root for them against Barca.

Agreed, i don't like Barca but i hate Man Utd even more and know plenty of United fans who i'd like to get my own back on for the stick they gave me when we went out the Champs league to Barca...

In fact I even cheered for Arsenal a team I hate even more, in the Champions league final they lost a few years back. I might wish for the English teams I hate to be knocked out in the earlier stages, but if they can make it to a final, they have my backing.

This.

Hard to watch a game where both sides make you want to smash the TV screen in.

There isn't a good result out of this game other than both sides kicking the shit out of each other, diving, cheating absusing the referee and both being thrown out of Europe for the next 10 years.

Old gimmer... (and we have been in the top flight longer then any other team without a break so clearly deserved our place! ;) )

I thought Everton had never been relegated? :conf:

Semantics:

EVERTON have been in the top fight for the most seasons (0nly 4 seasons spent in the second tier since 1888-89 season, compared to ARSENAL, who have spent 13 seasons in the second tier since 1893-94.)

love this quote from Ronaldo -
"Higuain's goal was good. Pique pushed me and I landed on Mascherano. He didn't used to fall to the ground in England, but he's picked up the bad habit of doing it here like everyone else."

what a joker - i don't think he's picking up on the irony of HIM saying it

yeah - that's why Gary used the word "semantics" to describe your statement!

we're the team (with the third letter of our name being L and the first letter being B) with the most FA cup wins, the most european victories and the longest run in the top division out of all teams ever.

He's so right though... Mascherano spent a horrendous amount of time on the floor the other night, and he wasn't like that when he was with Liverpool. In my opinion, Ronaldo has gone the other way. He was cheater-in-chief under Ferguson's charge, like Rooney/Hernandez/Nani/Park are now, but he's gotten a lot less horizontally inclined since he moved to Real.
