Elmander signs for Galatasaray
well according to their chairman. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/pre ... o-be-first" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (most relevant link I could find that isn't in translated Turkish Gobble(gobble)dygook)
That's where he was last weekend then I take it.
Whatever happened to Liverpool, Juventus and Inter Milan being interested, eh?
Worst signing in the club's history? In terms of outlay on transfers and wages I think he probably ranks up there.
I normally wish players moving on all the best, and I know Elmander fulfilled every day on the contract he signed, but for his overall shitness for the majority of it, I can't say anything too positive. Thanks for the class goal against Wolves, I s'pose.

Re: Elmander signs for Galatasaray
I've got two opinions about this as half of me wishes him good riddance and then half of me thinks he's got enormous potential that Owen could have made the most about
Pfffft.

Exactly this. This season is proof of Coyle being able to get the best out of him. But for me he's not nearly consistent enough. At the moment I'm leaning towards good riddance. That might change if we don't get Sturridge back / a sutable replacement.TKIZ! wrote:I've got two opinions about this as half of me wishes him good riddance and then half of me thinks he's got enormous potential that Owen could have made the most about

Re: Elmander signs for Galatasaray
Exactly if his season had remained as consistent and he hadn't faded towards the end like he has then my opinion would be very different. I get the sense with Elmander more than others that he plays for his pay check rather than buying into Coyle's team ethos like lots of the players.hi there, i'm chris wrote:Exactly this. With everyone leaving we're in for a busy summer.

Great move, Johan. The Turks are renowned for their patience and fair-mindedness. Start the Saab.

Re: Elmander signs for Galatasaray
i like him as a player, he seem's a nice guy, but he can seriously get f**ked..if he got annoyed at our fans getting on his back then galatasaray will be the end of him..i hope he doesn't expect to be involved in any 'lap of honour' if this is true.

Glad to see the back of the lazy sod.
Sad that Bwfc haven't got anything back on him and that ridiculous transfer fee.
Move on. Search for a replacement.
With a bit of ambition, it can't be hard to better him in terms of his goals and workrate in the vast majority of games whilst here

Careful with that first comment, cos his dedication can't be questioned. He always gave 100%the-Bowtun-Warrior wrote:Glad to see the back of the lazy sod.

Re: Elmander signs for Galatasaray
In the end, he was bought as a record signing and the manager who bought him didn't seem to know how best to use him and how to get the best out of him. Unfortunate first season dogged by early injuries, but no real excuse for the second.
Not the most determined of individuals, he could hide as well as Bin Laden and was as physical as a feather duster.
The start to this season makes one wonder what could have been achieved if he'd been on that form throughout. He had a couple of games this year where he was unplayable, discovering some strength, a first touch and decent close control.
We'll always have Wolverhampton

Disappointed, but not distraught.
Good luck to him, never worth what we paid for him.

Re: Elmander signs for Galatasaray
I wonder if theres a more reputable website reporting this deal?
After all doesn't seem the most trusted of sources (at least wait till he's gone before slagging him off).
