What's going on with Monaco?

For a while it seemed they were trying to become one of the elite European clubs, with a Russian billionaire owner spending huge sums on Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez, and Falcao. Now Rodriguez and Falcao are gone and they don't seem to have replaced them with players anywhere near that caliber. Has anyone seen any explanation for what's going on?

They have a tiny stadium.. they play in a tin pot league and can't win the tin pot league because PSG are better.

All this adds up to very little income in comparison and with FFP rules you can only spend what you bring in pretty much.

Yeah, I sort of figured that they had realized they can't compete with PSG for the title and will settle for a CL spot. Still it's bizarre to see how quickly their ambition came and went.
