I actually READ it in the Torygraph .... but found the Grauniad version on line first.Bruce Rioja wrote:You should be had up on a disrepute charge for reading The Guardian!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I bet he's secretly a lesbian too.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Now 3-2.
Re: Liverpool laughing stocks?
Only turned it on when Gerrard and Suarez came on last night - it was like a 'best and worst' compilation of the two.
Suarez comes on and instantly does some 'simulation', but later on scores a free kick. Only after that he puts a free header straight at the keeper.
Gerrard comes on and gives them a lot of drive, but he cheaply gave the ball away in midfield before Udinese scored their second.
Di Natale is a hero.

I watched some of this as i was ill and decided to have the evening off... flitted between this and Grand Designs (yeah - that's how ill I was!!)
anyway - I saw Udinese go up 2-1 then 3-1... I was amused that when Suarez scored his free-kick the commentator said summat like:
"That's what your top players can do for you, Rodgers has brought Suarez and Gerrard on at exactly the right time..."
errrr.... when they came on - it was 1-1 - within 10mins they were 3-1 down!!

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says a top-four finish in the Premier League and a trophy remains a realistic aim.

oh - it's very risky!! I share this compulsion with Mr GG - and once risked driving down to his house to watch the 2006/7 European final with him on the offchance they might lose and make my month!! (we even had AC Milan scarves at the ready) Fortunately AC Milan delivered and my month was made!!

Blimey, was it that long ago? Mr GG does hate Liverpool, he'd far rather they lost then any other team won. But then, he's not a proper football fan.thebish wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Shirley a risky business on yet another of those oh so magnificent European nights at Anfield, no?thebish wrote:I have this weird inbuilt compulsion to watch Liverpool on the off-chance that they will lose and make my day!
