Re: Tonight's Football
Only half-watching the Galas, 4-0 down to Real M, then it's gone a bit mad. 1-4,2-4,3-4, ...
4,4 then ref blows offside. He must be on the Real team sheet the number of daft decisions. Real player blatantly handles the ball, ref gives Real a free-kick. Ten minutes left...
All over, Ronaldo after Arbeloa got a red. Cracking second half. Galas all over them.

Missed the ending but just seen Elmander came on for last 10 minutes for Galatasaray.
Meanwhile, Holden not even on the bench for Wednesday... hopefully he has a decent pre-season.

It's because he played on Saturday. He didn't play last Tuesday for the same reason

Re: Tonight's Football
I guess they are contracted not to overuse him. So far he's played an hour, twice.boltonboris wrote:It's because he played on Saturday. He didn't play last Tuesday for the same reason
He really must be still struggling for actual match-fitness. Far from surprising, but shows how far he had to go. Yep, pre-season is vital for him .... & someone somewhere suggested a summer loan to the MSL which may not be a bad shout.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Tonight's Football
For the games he hasn't played he has not even been on the subs bench, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are conditions to how much he can be played.bobo the clown wrote:I guess they are contracted not to overuse him. Re: Tonight's Football
He said in that interview posted in the trotters forum that he's physically back to fitness, but that in terms of work on the field he's nowhere near (or words to that affect). Like being pressured on't ball, tackling, getting knocked about, that kinda stuff.bobo the clown wrote:I guess they are contracted not to overuse him. Hopefully all goes well and he'll get a proper pre-season under him.

Re: Tonight's Football
Spuds equalised
still, hopefully extra time now knacker them and they will lose anyway, though maybe if they go through to the next round they might be slightly distracted in the league? Anyway, hoping and praying there will be a st totteringhams day this year after all...
