A proven goalscorer at premiership level, hits the back of the net regularly.
Not sure why that price is so funny...

But if the price is "amusingly high" then surely Sunderland are the beneficiaries? And you should be laughing at Villa?Lofthouse Lower wrote:Because it's Sunderland.

Adam Hammill will be a decent signing for Wolves. Jarvis down one side, him down the other, think they'll have more threat. Still fooked, coz they can't, you know, defend at all, but still...

Ha. Was reading the BBC gossip column, and I know it's from the Daily Star, so almost certainly bollocks, but the very idea of this made me laugh, and has that 'sounds true' quality:
"West Ham are targeting Sporting Lisbon's attacking midfielder Simon Vukcevic, with the 24-year-old Montenegro player valued at £17m, although the Hammers only want to pay about £6m."

Anyone reckon they owe someone 17m?

Probably works out at a round 20m euros.

That there Charlie Adam.. it seems like movement may be forthcoming... (from ye BBC footie ticker)
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway on his in-demand midfielder Charlie Adam: "There are three teams in and around us in the league who have all offered unbelievably little amounts of money for him (Liverpool, Aston Villa Birmingham). I am disappointed by that - £2.5m, £3.5m and £4m. Any chance of putting a one in front of that and you might have a chance. If he's only worth £4m then I'm a Scotsman called McTavish."
Here's more on the Charlie Adam situation. Blackpool have rejected a £4 million pound bid from Liverpool for the Scotland international Charlie Adam. Chairman Karl Oyston told BBC radio Lancashire: "We received a verbal bid of £4m for Charlie on Friday but it doesn't change the situation... he's still a player who is under contract with Blackpool and Liverpool's offer only matches previous offers we have recently turned down from Aston Villa."
MrEasy1 on Twitter: "Charlie Adam applauded all four stands of Bloomfield Road on his own... a farewell it seems."

They were all saying he was doing his farewell's last week. Are they just going to do some kind of farewell roll-over every week until he eventually goes.

Aguerro's signed a new deal, so that's another player who won't be coming over to these here shores!

£30m. Christ on a bike2.29pm: Having been put back for 90 minutes until 3.30pm, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew's scheduled press conference this afternoon has now been cancelled. Make of that what you will ...
2.23pm: Sky's man outside St James' Park, whose name escapes me, seems to think that Andy Carroll will be sold before the Transfer Window slams shut this night, when Liverpool make Mike Ashley a new and improved offer he can't refuse.

Re: Summer non-Bolton Transfer Gossip Thread
Don't think Carroll wants to go to Liverpool though. He wants to stay at Newcastle.

Offer him enough money and he'll go.
Re: Summer non-Bolton Transfer Gossip Thread
So they could end up swapping Torres for Carroll and £10million? Brilliant!

Re: Summer non-Bolton Transfer Gossip Thread
Indeed. £30m for a player who played part of a relegation season, had a good season in the Championship, has had 1/2 a good season in the PL and has been crocked for 4 weeks. The mind boggles. Potential to be the whipping boy at Liverpool.
