I fail to see the problem!Backgammon wrote:They really are a club in crisis. This takeover bid is just getting ridiculous. They should just feck it off and get on with getting a manager in. Ever day they mess about is a day wasted in preparation for the new season. They've lost the two best players, signed zero replacements, and have been left with a squad that resembles a relegation side.
The only thing they've got going for them is their youth academy. They seem to produce player after player; true, some don't quite make it in the premiership, but they're still bringing them through non-the-less.

They can't, cos whoever eventually takes over may have his own ideas about who to hire. And indeed how much money is available may affect who wants the job.Backgammon wrote:They really are a club in crisis. This takeover bid is just getting ridiculous. There's time yet (although as you say it's ebbing away) but I can see this dragging on. They'll have someone like Derek Fazackerley in temporary charge for the first game...

I understand, but they've got to be getting to the point now where they can't wait any longer. It's strange to see a club being controlled by someone who hasn't actually invested a penny yet.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:They can't, cos whoever eventually takes over may have his own ideas about who to hire. Shinawatra: go home or go to jail
Latest great hope for pouring money in a pit of pointlessness is ordered to return to Thailand to face criminal charges - or face arrest. You couldn't clean this one up with all the bog-roll in a Franny Lee wagon.

"It's all just a misunderstanding" claim City directors. "We never took his bid seriously, we were just playing along for a bit of fun. We are actually in negotiation with a team of football agents who are interested in buying the club. We only deal with honest people and Willie McKay and a friend, who manages a team of Japanese Sumo wrestlers, are currently putting a really interesting proposal together. It may however involve a club change of name to Makimoto City"

In this morning's Guardian, in a report about how City may well be appointing Sven as their new manager, there's a reference to "Thaksin's advisors at the stockbrokers Seymour Pierce [surely that should be "see less Pearce?"], led by the former Football League chairman Keith Harris".
Have they got the right Keith Harris? Judging by the farce so far, I think the green duck may be in charge...
Not, of course, that I want to laugh at our erstwhile neighbours.
Oh wait, I do...

In the marginally altered words of Don McLean " ... the day morality died ...".
I don't trust the souce of the money keeping Chelsea going, I certainly doubt that Portsmouth's cash is legit. Leeds are a fckg disgrace ... but this "I don't care where it came from so long as it's going to MY club ..." attitude is outrageous.
Then again, I'd expect no more from the Citeh massive.
... or, in the Citeh version ... In the marginally altered words of the other Don McLean ... "... Crackerjack !! ".

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
