There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Not entirely sure of that. Seems this Abu Dhabi group is paying cash rather than incurring a huge amount of debt, a la the Glazers. Still, the Robinho purchase doesn't seem to be very well thought out. How do you fit Elano, Petrov, Jo, SWP, and Robinho in the same team? Seems like they were just looking to pull a fast one on Chelsea or Man U (the Berbatov bid) at the last second and didn't really care who they bought.

Aye, I don't think an embarassment of riches would exactly hinder a side with serious ambition. Which they now have to have with the obscene amounts of money being mentioned.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Gee I wish we had those players.
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

The risks for City, I think, is that Robinho will sulk because he didn't get the move he really wanted. He only went there because he had made himself a pariah at Real Madrid and City were the only ones willing to pay the fee. He may also have a harder time settling in this league without the guidance of his countryman Scolari. I suppose this Abu Dhabi group can afford the risk, but who knows how long they will be around if they don't see instant financial results. I read a quote recently that said you're better off sticking your money under the bed than investing in a football team.

I'm no Financial expert, but i'd say you're better off burning it than 'investing' it in a football team.

It isn't an investment, they have just bought a huge toy, they aren't expecting and dont care if they get a return from their cash.
Oh and apparently they are going to put a 130mil bid for ronaldo in january.

Glazer and Fergie would rather kill Ronaldo than sell him to City. No chance.
