Ashley Cole

Whereas Diouf got paid a lot for doing very little (occasionally looking superb, mostly lazy) showing contempt to just about everyone everywhere, publically stating he was off when we needed him the most, shat on us and put us in positions where we had to defend him over and over...yet most cheered his name every time he took to the field.
Conversley, Kevin Nolan gets more stick than anyone else in our team (Nicky Hunt move aside) yet he's the anithesis of Diouf.
Ashley may be a c**t, but he plays for England and I wouldn't pay money to go to a game to boo the club I'm paying to see, that to me is the mark of an utter wanker.

Ashley Cole is a tw*t.
Read that line about slavery in his book. Tw*t.
On several occasions I've f*cked up at work, and I've had customers literally screaming abuse at me. A bit of booing? Give all your England match fees to charity, or offer to play for free so they can lower the gate prices, or start a campaign to get the England team out of Wembley so we can all see them, do something that wouldn't highlight you as one of the leeches sucking the life out of the game in this country (see also agents).
No sympathy at all. Not a jot.
Did I mention I think A Cole is a tw*t?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I think he's a nice person, but thats not the point.
The fact is it was 2-1 and their tails were up. Everyone booing him every time he touched the ball could've unsettled him and caused another mistake. While that may have pleased some and given more ammunition for booing, it would've royally fecked up our chances of qualifying. Thus, it was a stupid thing to start booing him at a time when the game could've gone either way.
If you want to tell him how much of a nice person he is, by all means do it after the game, do it when he plays for Chelsea, camp outside his house chanting, whatever. But leave it til we've won the game.

I don't personally but obviously some England supporters cant put individual club/personal antipathies to one side when they "follow" their country. No reason why they should i suppose coz as you say they pay their money etc. Just cant understand the mentality of those who attend waiting for someone to feck up so they can boo himcommunistworkethic wrote:yeah because you go because of the individuals don't you?

I don't buy in to this club loyalty theory either - it's pretty well known that the big four don't tend to bother with England, so who exactly would boo Cole on a club level? And why weren't they booing Lampard?
Fact is, it was a horrible mistake and, as far as I'm concerned, he deserved the booing, regardless of the fact that he is indeed a tw*t.

You're not wrong there. Worryingly, I had a vision on Friday night of such a situation for the Scotland game which is exactly why I avoided watching it!lovethesmellofnapalm wrote:As mistakes go it wasn't quite as bad as Iwelumo's miss for ScotlandLeyther_Matt wrote:I don't buy in to this club loyalty theory either - it's pretty well known that the big four don't tend to bother with England, so who exactly would boo Cole on a club level? he deserved it cos he's ashley cole
if it wes brown, rio, rooney, even lampard they would not have been booed (lampard was only booed for several poor performances for mclowns england, and not whilst on the pitch IIRC)
Cole got it cos of a number of things, and the best that could come of this would be him to quit international football so we can have 11 players giving their all who the nation can get behind. big parts of this nation will always struggle to get behind that tw@t (insert you own alleged ashley cole getting behind jokes here).
Not many footballers I'd wish permenant injury on but he's one of 'em, and I don't care that he's english.
