Bruce to Sunderland?

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Which, to be fair to him (not my normal stance, I appreciate) are 3 good achievements. His scouting network in S/C America seems to be pretty hot.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Didn't Wenger have both Valencia and the other one on trial, deem them not good enough and recommend them to old flat-nose?
Was right all along

Palacios was recommended by Arsene.

Valencia was originally brought in on loan by Jewellinhio.

I have to say, I wish Sunderland would keep sacking their managers, just for the amusing Niall Quinn comments.......

"By Monday I can say 70-30 we will have a world class manager in place"

Appointment: Roy Keane

"We had some top-class quality in terms of the people that applied. Some of the CVs are breathtaking."

Appointment: Ricky Sbragia

"We need a big name manager to bring in big name players."

Appointment: Steve Bruce.

Granted, he's getting close I suppose. But still, puts "People who know football...." and "Better things come in smaller packages" into perspective.

You can get away with it with Sunnderlunnn fans. They're too blinded by how amazing their support is to twig onto anything like that

They also have a new American owner, after Ellis Short bought Quinn and Co out.

So they could have big money to give to a new manager now. Wonder how long Quinn will last as Chairman now??
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Short was in with that lot originally, 30%.

I'd expect Neil Quinn to stay in his role as cheerleader, sorry, chairman, saying that everything is "fantastic news for the club" on a daily basis.

Apparently a done deal now - Bruce is the new Sunnerland manager.

Pies after Martinez apparently - but so allegedly are Celtic, that would be a difficult pick...

I'd love him to stay put. Wonder if he will?

Looks like Sbragia's promised 'job for life' is scouting... ('connected with player recruitment')... Soon to be promoted to kit man?

Why isn't Martinez staying where he is - they must be one of the favourites to finish top 6 and they're a club on the up with decent local support and a new ground. Wigan are a club playing to less than 20,000 with not a great deal of cash, a very unenterprising midfield and Valencia on his way (though that'll help the cash). Martinez is 35 for Christ's sake, he's got the time for another year down there!

Bruce meanwhile shows that he's as disloyal as ever, but he probably left for the reasons above as well.

He loved it in Wiggin

Ergo, he's mentally ill...
