Poirot's days are over !

I bet one day, DNA proof linking somebody to a crime or crime scene will be found in a pudding, or a 'dessert' if we're being posh..

Of course, the real question associated with this video is why either team should be playing in a 'European' competition in the first place...

Is Turkey not part of Europe now?

If you listen closely to 'The Final Countdown', you can hear it gobbling away on backing vocals.

Simples... Is it a European country? Are they eligable to apply for entry into the EC?

But that's just a restatement of the question. I'm saying it depends on what you mean by 'European'. Could Iraq 'apply' and be told no?

Anyway, I notice you're not asking about Kazakhstan?

I've no idea about Iraq, I'd assume no, considering it's classed as Asia.

Enlighten me. Why does this video raise the question about whether or not Turkey should be playing in European competition?

No. Neither's Israel, though, so I know what the qualifying criterion are.

Unless it's Money and TV revenue.

If it isn't part of Europe, how have they been part of the Council of Europe since 1949? The Western Europe Union since 1992? They applied for EC in 2005. In 2006 their application into the EU was put on hold because of the Land disputes in Cyprus. They will become an EC member state by 2013.

If that isn't European, I don't know what is.

They have the same trading 'obstacles' as Switzerland and Norway in terms of European Free Circulation
