Are you sure?
Capello picked Carlton Cole, we'd be better off with Carlton Palmer up front.
Jesus - for £6m a year, he's really taking the p*ss now......

I think you are clutching at straws with that thinking, EL.East Lower wrote:as wrote:When the 'big' name players are back?East Lower wrote:I reckon it's cos SKD has been promised a place in the squad for the next Euro Qualifier game

Pretty sure, yep. Maybe I'm trying to find reason in the workings of a lunatic, but I am going to stick by it.

All of this inspired me to write the following limerick;
Picking the England team shows
That our manager adds to our woes.
Mister Capello
May be a nice fellow
But should stick to picking his nose.

How many times has Steven Gerrard given the ball away? 9? 10? In twenty minutes? Suppose that happens when holding midfielders give themselves more than 5 yards between themselves and the defenders behind you.
Jagielka's an infinitely better centre back than a right back. And is a lot dizzier after Benzema's goal.
Positive. Jordan Henderson's close control is good. I'll try and find another one in the next seventy minutes.
EDIT: Actually, Keiron Gibbs hasn't done much wrong during his debut. Doesn't give you the attacking scope that Ashley Cole does, but then again we haven't actually seen England form an attack due to their gash ball retention.

Now there's movement around Carroll, we've started creating stuff. All through knock downs from Carroll. One spoilt by Milner's greed in wanting to predictable cut in and shoot - easily dealt with. The other spoilt by Gerrard's poor finishing, on a ball he wouldn't let sit up for him (although when you're in the area, it's hard to predict when you should hit a ball without knowing how much pressure you're under).
This is rubbish, get Bothroyd on!
I'd fancy Bolton to beat this England team and that's taking out feeling over our lads reluctant/non call-ups.

The passing - short and long - is without any purpose. As I type, Steven Gerrard gives the ball away cheaply again. Andy Carroll has had nothing to do except pick headers out of the air from 25-30 yards away. Any time he's had the ball at his feet, he's facing away from goal due to the reluctance of our wide men to a) run with the ball, b) look for a ball over the top, or c) get a cross in.

People have the brass neck to criticise us when England consistently serve up this low quality shite?
I'm sure in the morning somehow or other some twatsicle like Samuel will make a connection between us and the poor England team. And thus we will never solve our problems.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Second balls. second balls. If anyone didn't catch it, second balls. Not knock downs. Second balls.plymouth wanderer wrote:boring long ball england
they wanna start watching the wanders if they cant play to that high standard then maybe Arsenal or Barca
If you're utilising the striker's heading ability, you need to have your supplementary attacking players in a position to feed off the second balls. milner - once. Gerrard - once. Walcott - too busy trying to run really, really fast to think about where he should be to get a second ball.
Allardyce used it well because he utilised the likes of Nolan, Okocha, Stelios, even Campo quite often, and had them in prime positions for the second ball. Still does - look at the goals Blackburn scored last weekend.
Coyle does it well, because he has Elmander buzzing around, Taylor has hung back a little to adopt the Stelios positions, and Lee is often there for the balls that come back from Davies/defender on his side. All about anticipation and reading each other's game - a more difficult prospect during international training sessions than the full time job, but if you're going to play that game - make time to prepare your team for it (although I suppose Carroll spent quite a bit of time on Monday getting his willy rubbed by a physio to make it all better).
I'm telling the wrong people here.
