Aye we have. I remember beating them there once, and then us having to beat them again on penalties - all on the same night!jaffka wrote:apart from never winning there

Did we win in the year that they got relegated from division one (now the championship)?

... and I saw us win there once. Against Rossendale United in the FA Cup 3rd Round. It was a long, long time ago. And we came from behind!

Oakwell was a complete shithole until they did it up. The concrete terracing had completely disappeared into a mound of mud and rubble. And the away end at Prenton Park wasn't much better.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The one and only match I have ever been thrown out of, for throwing fecking ticker tape. It wasn't even me. My mate threw it and handed me the empty bag. The next thing I know is there is a hand on my shoulder, escorting me out. Tw@ts.

Mine was Boothferry in 'ull, in 1977 !Burnden Paddock wrote:The one and only match I have ever been thrown out of, for throwing fecking ticker tape. It wasn't even me. My mate threw it and handed me the empty bag. The next thing I know is there is a hand on my shoulder, escorting me out. Tw@ts.
Stood quite apart from the riff-raff I laughed when the unified cry of "You dirty Yorkshire b'stards" came out when Willy Morgan was hacked down by their full-back.
A cop's head appeared at my shoulder & said "I'm a dirty Yorkshire b'stard" .. then, Keystone cops-like, another appeared and said " ... and so am I".
Cue my saying "sorry officer" etc. But instead I said "... don't tell me your problems". My arm was then suddenly up my back & I was frog-marched up to the back & then very carelessly down a huge flight of steps and out of the ground & into a portakabin where the sausage fingered desk-sargeant proceeded not to be able to spell my name till I offered to take the pen off him & write it myself. They chucked me out uncharged eventually.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

The old away end at Bloomfield Road was pretty ummm basic.
Ditto Stockport.
Actually used to quite enjoy Gigg Lane, and i used to like Vale Park.
Bradford was an experience, small and cramped and with a quick glance to the left and there was a single storey kind of cow shed going all along, that looked like it would fall off the hill any minute.
