Martin Samuel STILL in tears about us relegating West Ham

I love how he takes Gartside's idea ( a pproperly shit one, for so many reasons, in fact for pretty much every reason except the ones he mentions) and then tries to argue we wouldn't get it because Blackpool, Preston, Charlton, Bristol City, Plymouth would. Now I'm by no means at all a 'we're a big club so ner ner' person, but if you were to use that ludicrous system....we win.Athers wrote:Martin Samuel STILL in tears about us relegating West Ham

Aside from the character assasination of our club he is right yes. The glee with which he seized upon the chance to have a go at those northern bastards TM was embarrasing however.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:His argument is right though. Football must be a meritocracy.
Oh, and there is no place in the PL for the Old Firm. (He didn't actually say that, but he should have done.)

Big, big shame. Always struck me as a decent bloke and an amazing player.

I pretty much agree with everything he says. I understand that Gartside has our best interests in mind and is trying to protect us from financial ruin. An easier way of doing this would be to grow a set and tell Megson to get f*cked when he tries to spend the majority of our budget on Knight, Ricketts, and Robinson.Athers wrote:Martin Samuel STILL in tears about us relegating West Ham

It was reported elsewhere that Gartside was willing to accept promotion and relegation from the bottom of 'PL2'
FWIW I'd be interested to read the proposal document but I'll always be against Rangers and Celtic bringing their brand of violence and hatred of the English to our ground, not to mention they'd be a threat for league position.

I hope he didn't make it worse during that spazzy goal celebration though!

Is that the 2 goals from 4 games, bang in-form Elmander you're talking about?
Anyway, the news about Ashton is a shame. If, as that article suggests, he starts trying to sue Shaun Wright Phillips, all hell will break loose. I highly doubt he will though.
The news about Martin Samuel being a nice person, even when he's got a resonable point underneath it, is a less of a shame as who'd expect anything less? The extent he goes to in the first half of that article to try and contrive a set of criteria that'd see us left out was hilariously pathetic.
