Haven't Fenerbache got some legal case going on though GG meaning that even if they beat you should they lose the case (which would result in them being banned from European football) Arsenal would go into the Champs League as replacements.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

No, we wouldn't go in as replacements if we lost and they got booted out.bwfcdan94 wrote:Haven't Fenerbache got some legal case going on though GG meaning that even if they beat you should they lose the case (which would result in them being banned from European football) Arsenal would go into the Champs League as replacements.
3-1 win for us against Man City will do nicely to end our pre-season friendlies.

So...Chamakh has gone now
along with Gervinho and a whole load more dead wood but am still twiddling my thumbs waiting for a super duper big name signing. Wenger must have something in the pipeline, surely?!

Brazilian defensive midfielder. 17.2 million bid mate. Quality player but Napoli in again to steal the player from under your noses

See, I saw that - and I think he would be a good addition. We have been missing a quality defensive mid since the Vieira days - but as you so humerously put it, chances are Napoli will beat us to it on him too so am not counting my chickens on that one either. Will probably go the same way as talk of Higuain, Rooney and Suarez... Sigh.ChrisC wrote:Gustavo from Bayern.Gooner Girl wrote:So...Chamakh has gone nowalong with Gervinho and a whole load more dead wood but am still twiddling my thumbs waiting for a super duper big name signing. Are Arsenal talking about spending money on big name players still? You should have learnt by now you'll be signing a promising youngster for 6m and he'll end up at Sunderland in 3 years time

Lol, do you think Napoli have an insider at Arsenal.ChrisC wrote:Gustavo from Bayern.Gooner Girl wrote:So...Chamakh has gone nowalong with Gervinho and a whole load more dead wood but am still twiddling my thumbs waiting for a super duper big name signing. So we have got rid of 17 players this summer and signed 1. We now have such an amount of injuries that we have just 12 first team players fit for Saturdays game against Villa. Sigh.

Oh dear. Unless Wenger comes to grips with the term 'market value' then it doesn't look like you'll ever sign anyone.Gooner Girl wrote:So we have got rid of 17 players this summer and signed 1. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

If Arsene has any dodgy secrets about Steve Clarke we can use for blackmail, I'll even throw in free accommodation down here so he doesn't get stuck eating Nando's again!

God knows what Arsenal are doing. So far it's nothing short of a disgraceful Summer from them.
Spurs, their main rivals, have brought in some excellent players so far. Arsenal are basically relying on them selling Bale to not be overtaken.

The same thing they do every summer, which is not much.Athers wrote:God knows what Arsenal are doing. So far it's nothing short of a disgraceful Summer from them.

More I see from them, the more convinced I am it is Wenger who is scared to spend money and lose his ability to hide behind "Arsenal doing things the right way".
Given their stadium, the cost of tickets, their fan base and supposedly the money their owners have said is available to them, just being ahead of Spurs isn't enough anyway. They should be winning trophies and competing for big ones such as the premiership and champions league at that.
They are so far off doing so and seemingly going further and further away from it.
I just don't think you can reasonably play the "we're living within our means we can't compete with the big spending clubs" when you're asking fans to pay over a grand in many cases for a season ticket.

Two of the three teams they're competing with are backed by multi-billionaires. Billionaires that put substantial funds into the team. The other is so heavily in debt it'd take Greece-like efforts to catch up. It looks like a lot of money from where we are. In realtive terms, it isn't.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Yeah but what do Arsenal do to try and bridge the gap? Nothing?Lord Kangana wrote:Two of the three teams they're competing with are backed by multi-billionaires. I mean they've been saying for years that money is there to be spent but they haven't spent it.
One of their owners claimed there is £75M available to spend. I can't see them being weaker for spending some of it. Even if they have to look for a level down to what Man City and Chelsea are buying.
It would be a bit like Freedman saying "Well QPR, Forest, Reading and Wigan all have greater transfer funds than us and richer owners than us so lets not bother trying".
You have to work within your means, but Arsenal don't seem to be even doing that.
Like I say recording healthy profits and saying each season you're going to spend big but not doing probably would be considered ok were it not for the ticket prices they are asking their fans to pay.
If you have the most expensive tickets and fans are paying for it, I genuinely think they can expect a bit more than they're getting over the past 8 years.
