There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

But what are you basing £8m in, without knowing his value to Swansea, or the terms of his contract?

It is the value he would add to Arsenal that matters. Swansea can ask for whatever they want but it is immaterial unless someone offers it.

IF Arsenal pay £25M for him (and I can't see it) they will look pretty silly considering a year ago they could have had him for £2M.

If Suarez is worth 40 million upwards then Michu is worth 25 all day long.

Michu scored 18 goals last season and Suarez only 5 more with 23.

Michu is also a model professional unlike Suarez who likes to bite amongst other things.

What the feck does it matter that Swansea only paid 2 million for him?

No Cabaye in the Newcastle squad tonight. Pardew fuming that a bid has been made the day before a game

So one season in the premiership and 18 goals cup and league, multiples your value more than ten fold?

Not for me. And what he is worth to Swansea is not the argument.

If anyone pays £25M for him I think that is completely OTT. Just my view. I reckon if they paid that much plenty of Arsenal fans would be saying the same too. Why didn't Wenger just go for him a year earlier at a much lower fee?

Fees for players are irrelevant ever since Andy Carroll went to Liverpool for £35,000,000.

Why didn't they go for Carroll the season prior when Newcastle valued him at 1 million?

Swings and roundabouts. Football has gone stupid.

Carroll was 22 and English (always adds silly numbers onto fees).

But case in point it was a silly fee for Carroll at 22.

A 27 year old with really one good season at the top level, it's an even sillier fee.

What Michu is worth to Swansea is exactly the argument!! You put the price tag on his head, so you're obviously privy to his valuation.

He's a class act, who was directly involved in almost a third of Swansea's goals. Their income is astronomical now because of the new deal. Probably got decent sponsorship too because if their recent success.

It's all irrelevant anyhow cus Wenger won't spend that on him. Another season like the last then id shell out that kind of money.

Fellani is the player they need to go for IMO he's a better player than Viera and he's the sort they've been missing for years

Which is the reason Wenger won't go for him. A snide comment I admit but Wenger doesn't seem very adept the past few years filling holes that seem obvious to the casual followers of football. Fellani does get injured quite a bit, something Wenger does seem to like, but returns from injury much too quickly for his liking. Yes another snide comment.

Vieira is one of the greatest midfielders to have played the game in my generation. An absolute freak of nature, which we probably won't see again. He was better than Keane in my opinion, who was one of the worlds best.

Fellaini is a very good player. Vieira is a modern great.

Arsenal have gone quiet again when they was apparently close to signing Gustavo from Bayern.

Paul Pogba would be a quality signing for them as we'll if they could temp Juve to sell. Can't believe an English club didn't pick him up when he left Manure.

Article from John Cross who is normally very pro-Arsenal and Wenger. And has been criticised in the past by their fans for toeing the club line too much.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ud-2188755" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is understood that Arsenal have now put talks with Wenger - who has one year left on his £7.5m-a-year contract - on the back burner until after the transfer window shut.

That is more about priorities than a U-turn on Wenger's future. But if Arsenal mess up this transfer window, crash out of the Champions League and make a dreadful start because they have run out of players then it would surely be impossible to rush into giving Wenger a new deal.

The more militant and outspoken Black Scarf Movement wrote an "enough is enough" letter to Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis on the back of Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa which saw thousands of fans turn on Wenger and chant: "Spend some f***ing money."

The Black Scarf Movement letter concludes: "Make no mistake, if there is not significant improvement in our playing squad over the next couple of weeks, the rapidly growing anger in the stands will become difficult to overturn.

"There hasn't been a poisonous atmosphere like this at Arsenal for over 30 years and the Board has simply stood by, while things have gone from bad to worse. I am sure you appreciate, this can no longer happen."

The frustration for the board is that there is in excess of £70m to spend - and yet they have the only manager in the Premier League who is reluctant to buy players. Most beg their chairman for more funds while Wenger tells his chief executive not to spend so much money.

Wenger, like every manager should, has the final say on transfers in every sense: targets, how much they should pay. But Wenger's valuations appear to be the biggest obstacle in getting deals done.
But most clubs have enough players to cover four injuries. Arsenal are struggling. They have not only failed to deliver quality in the transfer window.................................

Their lack of players highlights Wenger's stubbornness, raises questions about his longevity at the Emirates and whether he has lost his touch. Go out of the Champions League and most Arsenal fans would say he has.

Cabaye is a strange move as well. Too similar to Wilshere, Ramsey & Rosicky etc. for me. I reckon they should be bidding for Ben Arfa or Colocinni instead if they want a Newcastle player. Why didn't Arsenal pick up Cabaye direct from France? Wenger's own market he's supposed to be the boss of!

They've long gone past well-run and sit at comfortable and unambitious. Look at what Spurs are doing today - Willian and Coentrao. Kinell. Even Liverpool are going for these sorts of players.

Looks like we may see a panic like they did with Arteta, Santos and Mertesacker.

Cabaye bid screams of desperation to ease the fans anger after the defeat to Villa and the chanting. Arsenal know damn well that Newcastle would be wanting around double the 10 they offered.

Micah Richards (59p)
Michu and Ashley Williams double bid of £4.50
suarez - upped to £14.99
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas - £6.50
Lars Bender - 87p
