Dont be silly Phil, its only a serious cup competition when we win it!thebish wrote:Gooner Girl wrote:Bit different in a friendly don't you think? IIRC, Ian wright played for both us and another team (maybe west ham) in one game. Think that might have been a testimonial though...thebish wrote:I'd imagine there are occasions when we'd quite fancy an opposition player giving us 15mins at the end of a game.. it deosn't really sound that feasible though...
ahhh... I thought it was a serious cup competition!

Anyway, sorry, have dragged this off topic! I'll go and buy my own bergkamp t-shirt. In fact I still have one from when I was young. Wonder if I can still squeeze into it...

Doesn't usually starting raining at Arsenal until just after a bold prediction by Wenger.

There's talk about playing fabregas in the champs league qualifier as i dont think we have RVP or Nasri available. If we get through that would mean he's cup tied and couldn't play for barca in the comp...

SSN's exciterbar - Arsenal reject Barcelona's latest offer for Fabregas! YAAAAAAAAWWWWWN!

May the bridges I burn light your way

If you don't get through and lose he would still be able to play for Barcelona in Champions League if transferred?Gooner Girl wrote:There's talk about playing fabregas in the champs league qualifier as i dont think we have RVP or Nasri available. No....if he plays in any round he's cup-tied.seanworth wrote:If you don't get through and lose he would still be able to play for Barcelona in Champions League if transferred?Gooner Girl wrote:There's talk about playing fabregas in the champs league qualifier as i dont think we have RVP or Nasri available. They'll sell.

...great strategy... keep a sulky injury-prone calamity-captain who doesn't want to play for you - for another year...Gooner Girl wrote:There's talk about playing fabregas in the champs league qualifier as i dont think we have RVP or Nasri available. Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
that is certainly what the Daily Mail report suggests... no idea if it is right or not, though...seanworth wrote: If you don't get through and lose he would still be able to play for Barcelona in Champions League if transferred?
certainly on one level - I could see how it could be argued that you can't be cup-tied for a competition you never qualified for...Daily Mail wrote:Fabregas is believed to be deeply concerned by the possibility that he will be forced to take part, which would immediately leave him cup-tied in the same competition should he join Barcelona, although if Arsenal fail to qualify he would not be cup-tied.
but on the other hand - the qualifier IS (at least on some level) connected to the Chumps League...
I suspect the answer is - if it were Liverpool, it'd be fine, otherwise, no chance!

Pointless having the best subs bench in the universe and only putting £20Million players on it. I wonder if they have a "Subs Bench Captain?"seanworth wrote:Pretty much sums up the entire squad.thebish wrote:...great strategy... keep a sulky injury-prone calamity-captain who doesn't want to play for you - for another year...Gooner Girl wrote:There's talk about playing fabregas in the champs league qualifier as i dont think we have RVP or Nasri available. Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Re: Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ev
It's panic time every week as a gooner at the moment... Wenger tries to hold out for a bargain and then there's never anyone left... I wish for once he would just pay the going rate for a player early on in the window. Would be far better for my blood pressure... (my phone tried to turn 'panic' into 'pancakes' and now I'm hungry...)seanworth wrote:I see they lost again. Might be panic time this week.
