Right, so its done....
And it's not part of any fully considered operation as far as I can see. Nobody bigger and better to step into the breach from what we can see, nobody even as good.
That, for me, makes this a royal f*&k up. Something must've gone on, otherwise why keep this until the dying days of the window?!
All the very best to Nolan, and it'd perhaps be good to get a message to him to let him know that there are thousands of Wanderers supporters who DO appreciate the many years of stirling effort, and blood and passion, that he's put into our club, and that weren't as ready to right him off and chant stupid chants (aside from the fact it's undeniable he's struggled to find the Allardyce form he had a few years back).
A few others have held the captaincy recently, so I don't think that'll be quite the problem it could've been. Matty Taylor's held it recently, but given SKD is a much longer serving player it might make sense to have him. What's really important though is what this does to the changing room. Doing this mid-season, without a really significant signing for midfield, they're gonna be in complete shock, and think the club is clueless as to what our 'project' really is.
This undoubtedly has the potential to be very, very bad for our season.

I must say I thought I'd be quite alright with this, but looking at that it's just wrong.

The 26-year-old will wear the no. 4 jersey, and is delighted with the move. He is quoted by Sky Sports as saying:
"It's happened so quickly that it was an opportunity that was an impossible to turn down.
"I can't wait to start playing for these fans," he declared.

Nat Lofthouse:

Maybe they think that's who they've signed! You know, to replace Owen.Athers wrote:That's Davies! For your licence fee today...CrazyHorse wrote:The BBC website wrote:He has featured in all of Bolton's 23 matches so far this season, scoring six times.

I wonder how many boos he will get when he turns out for Newcastle when they come to play us.
Our fickle fans will give him some stick for leaving. He could have said no even if the clubs had agreed a price. If he didn't sign his name then the deal would have been off and he could have stayed with us. It looks like he said it was move that he couldn't refuse so he was obviously happy to go.

Can hear the boos now.

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

And there we have it. He could picture the passionate masses of the Toon army giving him the support he thrives on, not the crap our fans have hurled at him recently at the drop of a hat.jenkz wrote:The 26-year-old will wear the no. 4 jersey, and is delighted with the move. I do hope for his sake though that they don't turn on him, because they're perfectly capable of being fickle... that said, he's never likely to become the figure of fun and target for frustrations which he became here, so on that front he probably can't lose. It's one hell of a big V to those on our terraces who've slagged him off so easily, frequently & vocally during games.
