Well, I'm not going looking it up, by all means be my guest, but as I understand it .... Top 4 into the Chumps League, fifth into Europa and FA Cup winners and League Cup winners into Europa. If the FA Cup winners are qualified already then the runners up take the place (so Hull possibly). Not the same for the LC runners up (& I already can't recall who was in that final).
By all means tell me if I'm wrong but I think Stretford are virtually out if it.
( edit... Citeh and Sunderland.)

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yeah, will be down to 6th (no runner up spot for Sunderland, but one for Hull if they don't win it.)

A quick trawl of the internet suggests that if Arsenal win the FA Cup and finish 5th in the League then 7th place will get a Europa League spot.
So Manure fans might still have something to look forward to on Thursday nights.

This is true. I hope the get in the UEFA cup. More embarrassing.Little Green Man wrote:A quick trawl of the internet suggests that if Arsenal win the FA Cup and finish 5th in the League then 7th place will get a Europa League spot.

Feck they might even do a Liverpool next season with no European distractions.
Re: It's about time somebody started this thread!
A difficult one. Wish for the greater short-term humiliation of missing Europe altogether, or end up in a competition they don't want and consider themselves above. I'm conflicted, but I'll plump for the latter, as it also involves Arsenal missing out to Everton. (sorry GG!)

Nope. Nowt is best.
Either way I guess the income loss from no Chumps is huge ... and they will have budgeted onit as a given. That lesson was harsh to Leeds and Newcastle a decade ago. Hopefully it will be again.

He always was barely the interim manager. I heard that "senior players" have basically turned on him and demanded his removal.
Reminds me a bit of Bruce Rioch when he went to Arsenal, although he did little wrong. His big money signing was Bergkamp .... not Fellaini !!

Coyle's done well to fend off all those offers and keep himself available....

Big nose coming out of retirement? Can't see a replacement around unless they nick someone. What about Lennon? OMFG!!
Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

One of the papers saying Giggs and Butt are doing it for 3 games. doesn't really matter with nothing to play for.Gravedigger wrote:Big nose coming out of retirement? Can't see a replacement around unless they nick someone. What about Lennon? OMFG!!

Yeah breaking news now on the BBC. I do hope they don't follow in the same footsteps as Leeds.

Things are looking up already. They've made Ryan Giggs the caretaker manager.

If I was him, I'd be off to live on my own Caribbean Island. Great way to get a nice pension and early payoff, fair play to him.
