Sky Sports: Bolton agree fee with Newcastle for Nolan

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

He's gonna make his debut - guy on 5liv said its the kind of signing "Kinnear would have made at Wimbledon". I'd put it in the cliche thread, but Nolan is no longer a part of BWFC.

I'll be watching, I would have anyway, but I'll be honest about Nolan's performance.

Lets be honest though, he's been poor for a long while, I don't see how that is going to magically transform in a few days.

30 minutes in, Nolan's made a few tackles, a vital goal line clearance and given the ball away with his passing a lot.

He looks a yard slower than most of the rest of the team though, but he's been ok...about the same as he was for us. Still shouting the orders despite not being captain.

As I say, 30 mins in, an average Nolan performance.

Newcastle 0 - 1 Sunderland (Cisse)

Just about sums it up from what I've seen, though I'm reading at the same time. Not seen him puffing yet!

Again have to agree, but Newcastle are coming into it a bit more.

The softest penalty this season saves Newcastle from defeat. Nolan invisible in the second half, as usual looked to be blowing out of his arse after 65 mins.

Typical game by Nolan, out of the game for much of the time, some good passes but quite a few bad ones. Slower than most on the park but he did save Newcastle by clearing the ball of the line. Had one shot from an accute angle, didn't contribute much else and made an average performance in a poor team.

Sunderland should have won, but a very dubious home team penalty decision gifted Newcastle an equaliser. But if Sunderlands forwards could pass to each other better they would have had at least one and probably two more goals.

But a draw isn't to bad for us I guess, we are still 12th and 4 points clear of relegation.
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

he seemed to be getting into the box more than he had been for us for a while but he did very little and looked off the pace as usual

anyway, time to move on now

Must have been watching a different game, if that was an average Nolan performance, then thank feck we got rid, what an anonymous waste of space he was. £4m? thank you very much.

Nolan disappeared after an hour. He was unable to keep up with attacks and barely able to track back. Surprised they kept him on for as long as they did. Also noticed he hasn't forgotten how to point and shout at referees.

On another note, imagine our fans if Bolton had sat back like Sunderland did in the second half!

They were chasing the game, Kinnear appeared to play young Caroll wide left and Nolan up top as a second striker for large portions of the second half.

In the first he was dead central midfield, but second he was obscenely far advanced, even for an "attacking midfielder".

Draws from teams around and below us are always the best result, so long as they lose to the top of table teams..

Well if they put HIM on the line then it's impossible for Sunderland to score!

I guess that's because his mobility allows him to get to any part of the goal before the ball's arrived.... 8)

Results below the top four/five are proving that there isn't much difference between the rest of the league. A good run by us with easier fixtures right now could see us getting right up there. The season, the way it's going, could well see only about 8/10 points between a EUFA spot and relegation.

Same Kevin, new club

I did want him to do well also, but a points a decent result for us.
