In fairness, I haven't seen him play for a good while either.malcd1 wrote:I can't say I have seen him recently but I thought he was a Matty Taylor sort of player. No pace, good left foot and that's it. I personally would keep Taylor. At least he scores more goals.Worthy4England wrote:Was thinking similar meself...hisroyalgingerness wrote:Hitzlsberger strikes me as a decent bit of business. I'm ok with lots of yoofs in the team, but we need a few older heads too.
We could do with pacey left winger.

You have to think that someone who has 50+ caps for Germany has a slightly better all round game than Matt Taylor.

1 area that West Ham lacked last season was a LW who was left footed. Always been a decent player, never forget when he hit that screamer against us when we had Poole in net i think was. Last min goal, Carlton Cole crossed the ball.hisroyalgingerness wrote:Hitzlsberger strikes me as a decent bit of business. Because they are sucking £260,000.00 per week out of the club, and they can't carry on like that for the following reasons:2399 wrote:CHELSEA

Michael Ballack

Juliano Belletti

Joe Cole
Released
Why?
Cole, has been earning shedloads to sit on the injury table and then tabled ridiculous terms on his new contract proposal
Beletti is shite and is (I think) 34.. also on big money
Ballack is 34(?) and earned approximately £120,000 a week, he's getting niggly injuries and his wages are of better use elsewhere (new younger signings)

Didn't they play him in midfield for a bit too?boltonboris wrote:Supposed to be a Right Back, but he doesn't 'do' defendingBruce Rioja wrote:I've never even heard of Juliano Belletti. What's his position? (first smartarse to answer 'unemployed' gets some o' this)
Decent enough player, but too old now.
Right back, has played in Midfield for Chelsea as he's comfortable on the ball and has a good shot on him.

... and a complete tunc & you can really only have 5 or 6 of those in your squad and Chelsea are somewhat over-subscribed.boltonboris wrote:Because they are sucking £260,000.00 per week out of the club, and they can't carry on like that for the following reasons:2399 wrote:CHELSEA OUT

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

So, Newcastle have "won the race" to sign Sol Campbell. Well done lads.
It looks like Sol was simply determined to wear black & white stripes and play for "the Magpie's".
In a game of '6 degrees of separation' I expect his next move to be to Chorley then.

More belting journalism, this time from the BBC, as, despite them being shit-houses, the Sun themselves never mention this gem in their own story.
"Arsenal are poised to move for Italy's first-choice goalkeeper Federico Marchetti after Cagliari put the 27-year-old up for sale.
Full story: The Sun"
