This isn't the town hall thread?bobo the clown wrote:Though one of those who did it, this surely qualifies as "mosy outrageous hi-jacking of a thread of the year" award.
Good though.

The Brummie town hall definitely scores five out of five on the Kleenex sphincter scale there Ratty.
Good long clean steps for BWFCi to proudly show off the old rusty bullet hole, with handy flagpole to steady oneself on if need be. Plus, beautifully crafted balcony for the General to delicately crack one off over whilst using the semi-erotic hand carved statue as a visual aid to y'know, help things along.
Gentlemen, I think we have a winner.

CH, I have to admire your choice ... a truly magnificent effort. Though 4.9 only maybe .... no lions !!CrazyHorse wrote:The Brummie town hall definitely scores five out of five on the Kleenex sphincter scale there Ratty.

The Kraut one, well, what can one say ? Magnificent ... but a terrible lack of steps.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, The Wonderstuff did shoot a video on the steps, but, as Bobo says - no lions. 4.9. A brave effort though.bobo the clown wrote:CH, I have to admire your choice ... a truly magnificent effort. Though 4.9 only maybe .... no lions !!

Strangely enough Bish, it's a dead ringer for Portsmouth magistrates court. I wish I was clever enough to be able to put a picture of it on here.

As this is the Town Hall thread; I must put a word in for Rochdale. A very impressive TH by any standards; also, for a reason which escapes me now, Hitler wanted to bomb it so badly in ww2 he set up a special committee to look at the feasability of doing so.

Maybe he thought Vera Lynn might've been in it. Tis a very impressive piece of work. Moreso when set against the backdrop of the Seven Sisters. Not much opportunity to get your arse out and on full display though. Alas, only a three.Il Pirate wrote: As this is the Town Hall thread; I must put a word in for Rochdale. I am of course only delaying the inevitable.
Although listed in the Domesday Book Enfield doesn't have a town hall. We have a civic centre.

indeed - Rochdale town hall - the inside has oft-been used in films...
as for the hitler story... I thought the opposite was the rumour - that they AVOIDED bombing it because hitler admired it so much that had they won the war he wanted it to be transported brick-by-brick across to Germany... (My missus lived there when we were courting - and that's what the locals used to say...)

Re: Sam for the chop?
This is possibly the ugliest building, let alone mere town hall that Ive ever seen.
Aarhus - up the top of Denmark. But still, an opportunity to show your arse in four different directions. A shitehouse lighthouse, if you will. Three Kleenex points?

That, my man, is a not-very-popular piece of art dubbed 'the floozie in the jacuzzi' by locals. I'll leave Crazy Horse to decide who ends up in there.as wrote:Who's curled one out over the fountain then?
